Smashbox just introduced their new expanded Photo Finish Primer line. Photo Finish Primer has been one of the iconic products of the brand. Smashbox is known as one of the best makeup brands in the beauty industry and the Photo Finish Primer has been in the market for over 25 years. Now knowing they introduce the new version of the Photo Finish Primers to target different issues is very exciting.
Smashbox has introduced the Photo Finish Silkscreen Primers in 5 textures. They’re formulated with a Silkscreen complex that creates a breathable, silky barrier that perfects the complexion. The formula is also designed to defend against damage from environmental aggressors like pollution and blue light. The formula is free of parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, hydroquinone, sulfates SLS & SLES, triclocarban, and triclosan. It’s vegan and cruelty-free at the same time.
Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Oil-Free Foundation Primer
Smashbox Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Oil-Free Foundation Primer ($50) is a lightweight oil-free formula that instantly blurs flaws and imperfections while leaving skin nourished. The formula is infused with Vitamin A & E helps with the appearance of fine lines and pores plus adds longevity to the foundation. I have used the formula before and the new version is even better. The texture feels like a gel-cream, and it’s designed for all skin types and textures.
Photo Finish Primerizer+ Hydrating Face Primer
Photo Finish Primerizer+ Hydrating Face Primer is a hydrating primer with a milky-lotion texture that is formulated with triple hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to boost the skin’s hydration level immediately. It’s designed for dry and dehydrated skin while it protects and nourishes the skin for the entire day. The foundation goes smoothly and it doesn’t let the foundation look cakey throughout the day while it helps brighten up the complexion over time.

Photo Finish Illuminate Glow Face Primer
Photo Finish Illuminate Glow Face Primer is probably my favourite. This is a lightweight primer that adds exceptional radiance to the skin. Its formulated with Vitamin C and passion fruit for brighter and healthy-looking skin all day long. Its infused super-fine Peachy-Gold Pearls visibly add glow to the skin. It’s designed for all skin textures especially dry to normal skin types. I love how it finishes the skin and can be worn alone to add that exceptional glow.
Photo Finish Longwear Makeup Setting Spray Weightless
Smashbox also reformulated their Photo Finish Longwear Makeup Setting Spray Weightless which is a weightless setting spray that makes makeup transfer-proof. As many of you know I am a huge lover of the setting sprays and most of the time I use it under my foundation and over it to get that flawless finish. I’ve used the original formula which has been one of my favourite setting sprays. It also adds wear to the foundation without adding any texture to the skin. If you have dry skin or dealing with harsh dry winter months, this is the best way to add a healthy glow to the skin.
Finding a good primer that works on your skin is not easy. When it comes to primers, I have a love/hate relationship but I do find a good primer adds smoothness to the look and wear of foundation depending on your skin’s needs. For me, I treat my primer as a moisturizer and how I want to finish my foundation especially when it comes to events and occasions. Most of the time I reach out for glowing or hydrating primers. Few things you need to keep in mind that using primers that are compatible with your foundation that way your foundation will not separate on your skin. For example, the oil-free formula will not be compatible with an oil-based foundation.
I do find these primers are well put together for creating a perfect base for your foundation. I would highly suggest taking a look if you’re looking for a primer. They’re all available in-store and online at all stores at Smashbox counters.
