I have been hauling in Sephora here and there and had no intention on buying any more lipsticks or lip glosses since my lipstick drawer was over loaded with lipsticks and lip glosses but by the time I came across Nars counter, I couldn’t stop my self from swatching these new Limited Edition Lipsticks and Lip glosses from Spring 2016 collection. Some how I knew it would be a hit for me. These lipsticks in Banned Red and Rosecliff ($35 each for 0.12 oz) and Lip glosses in Vida Loca and Instant Crash ($33 each for 0.18 oz/6 ml) are the new shades for Nars Spring 2016 collection. The Nars Spring Collection will launch on February 1 on-line in Sephora and other retails, but when I saw it on Sephora’s store last week I didn’t wanted to take the chance and let it go since I know most of the times they get sold out in couple of days and plus I felt in love with the shades right away.
Up first is the review on Lipsticks in Banned Red and Rosecliff which are supper pigmented and the texture of lipsticks are soft, creamy and light weight, goes on really smooth on lips. They both has a very stain finish, keeps lips well hydrated and lasted for a good amount of time for me 3 to 4 hours. To be honest I couldn’t choose one in between two since both shades were so beautiful and charming so I had to get both.
- Banned Red is a red brick shade or as described “mulled wine” which carries a warm undertone. I would say its a Pure Love for me, where I would love to wear this on fall days but I think it will look really glamorous to start the spring with it. Since I have a fair skin tone it looked more wearable for me, especially for date night or any other occasions. I think it complement any skin tone.
- Rosecliff carries a nude shade or “soft rose” as described. It has a very muted and light rosy pink shade with a warm undertone. It carries a thin consistency that tugs a little during application but it’s not really dry. I have a passion for nude lipsticks, I feel it makes me look younger and adds a very classy look to me but defiantly I will be wearing this most of the times.
Up next is the Lip glosses in Vida Loca and Instant Crash, are both limited edition. Both glosses carry a very high shine finish and I’ve noticed that these glosses are transparent quality with one layer, you need two layers to get the best look. Both lip glosses don’t smudge around the lip line or you can always use lip liner to lock the gloss from creasing. The packaging is similar to the regular lip glosses with the sponge-tip applicator.
- Vida Loca is a soft beige Guava, I would say it sets somewhere between pink and beach shade with a warm undertone, and with no shimmer but high shine, this lip glosses bright up the look.
- Instant Crash is a shimmering nude beige with warm undertone, the shimmer picks up on lights and reflect and give a high impact look on lips.
At the end they all win, I feel these are must have for this spring. The Nars Collection for 2016 are available at Sephora stores right now and it will be launched on-line on February 1. I would advice you all to take a look at them if you stop by Sephora stores near you.
