Nars has launched their Spring collection and this time they also introduced their new foundation line Velvet Matte Skin Tint ($54 for 1.7 oz/50 ml). I totally love Nars foundation and concealer line, I am a huge fun of Nars All Day Luminous foundation and their Radiant Creamy concealer, the Nars All Day Luminous is one of my favourite foundations because it gives the most natural look to skin with medium coverage and stays all day with a nice dewy finish and the Velvet Matte Skin Tint one is as good as the All Day Luminous, the only thing that I felt is a little different is that the new Velvet Matte Skin Tint offers a slightly more coverage and is more build-able with different finish. The new Velvet Matte Skin Tint coverage is medium and even it says matte, it does not has a matte finish so it doesn’t look flat or too dry on skin, it gives skin a really nice dewy look with velvet finish.
I have a fair skin with yellow under tone and some times when I go with yellow under tone I feel it looks too yellow on me and I look sick so most of the times I have to get two different shades (Finland with pink under tone and Alaska with yellow under tone) mix them together to get a perfect match to my skin. And this is just me since I am a little picky on choosing a foundation shade to match, I feel mixing the pink under tone and yellow under tone balances every thing so well, the skin really looks awake.
The New Velvet Matte Skin Tint is oil free and carries SPF 30 which I always look in foundations especially during spring and summer season. The texture is very blend-able and goes on skin smoothly. I am loving this since it’s totally weightless and leaves the skin with a radiant glow but still natural looking. It feels like skin and stays on skin for a great amount of time without fading for creasing. I think its going to be perfect for this spring and summer, it evens out the skin tone, without looking too heavy on skin. This Velvet Matte Skin Tint has Rose Fruit Extract to minimize pores and control shine, and in addition the Vitamins C and E plus SPF protect skin from environmental stress. Perfect for any skin type and carries a great range of shades that I feel every one fits in some where.
This time Nars has come with a tube packaging which I feel its more appropriate to use it on daily basis, since most of us carry our make-ups in our make-up drawers so it’s very easy to store.
The new Velvet Matte Skin Tint is now available on-line at Nars. It will launch on-line at Sephora starting February 1 and some stores might get them a week earlier.
