Make up For Ever is one of the brand that always come with new innovations that blows out every one’s mind. This time Make Up For Ever has launched their new Water Blend Foundation (C$54 for 1.69 oz) which is the newer and better version of the iconic Face & Body Foundation. If you liked the Face & Body Foundation then you are going to love this Water Blend Foundation. This is a light weight, water-gel based foundation which provides a flawless and dewy finish. The Water-Blend Foundation is formulated with 80 percent water and enriched with pro-vitamin B5 which locks in the hydration and improves the skin’s elasticity over time. The Water-Blend Foundation comes in 20 shades to compliment all skin tones.
The texture is very light with sheer coverage but can be build-up to medium coverage. I don’t have a perfect skin so visible coverage is essential for me and as many of you know I always love to use my Beauty Blender to apply foundation but not this time. I found using a wet Beauty Blender soaks up the foundation and since the foundation carries a sheer coverage you need to use more foundation to get a sheer coverage, for me using my fingers was the best way to apply it and to make it strike free, use dry Beauty Blender or any other sponge to go over the area by pressing motion and this technique will give a flawless finish with better coverage. I found that waiting while you’re layering is a game changer, by giving some time to the foundation to absorb into the skin before next layer will give you a better coverage and a seamless finish.
I do have couple of dark spots and dark under eye circles that I need to cover, which I spot treated first with my concealer and corrector, then went over with my Water-Blend Foundation and I must say it gives skin a nice glow plus it feels like skin. At first I carries a very watery texture (as it looks in the swatch above) and feels like a tinted moisturizer but the foundation starts holding up after a minute, and creates a nice velvety finish.
The Water-Blend foundation comes in nice thick glass bottle with pump dispenser which I also love, the pump dispenser makes my life much easier. Always remember to make sure you shake the foundation before using it.
The lasting power is amazing, this Water-Blend foundation is water-proof and it lasted on my skin for 5-6 hours without any touch ups. On that point I must include that I didn’t even needed to lock it with any kind of powder since it sets beautifully on skin and it doesn’t move at all.
Bottom line I have been in love with the Water-Blend foundation even though most of the times I use medium to high coverage foundations, this was my first time using a sheer coverage foundation, and I am very impressed in terms of performance and lasting power.
