Illia Beauty is one of the new brands I am getting to learn and know about. I must say I’ve been impressed with its formulation and performance. I’ve been loving the new Skin Rewind Blurring Foundation and Concealer Complexion Stick ($65) for the past couple of weeks. The formula is fragrance-free and with light to medium coverage that looks natural. It is a stick formula but unlike other stick formulas, this one is light and quite hydrating. The lasting power is amazing. I also found the colour range is quite impressive. It is a base with skincare benefits that help skin build its firmness and help with signs of aging.
I got my hand on two shades from the collection – Holly a light shade with neutral undertones that match my skin perfectly and Aspen with peachy neutral undertones – I could only use this to correct any discoloration on my skin. This is one of the formulas that has a learning application aspect. It is easy to apply but feels greasy initially yet slowly melts into the skin. It looks better as it is worn throughout the day. I like to use a dense foundation brush to go over this foundation but very lightly. You can build the coverage to medium. It doesn’t require setting it with powder and has a nice natural sheen and radiant finish which I like.
I love this foundation for everyday wear. It looks radiant and natural on the skin and is very easy to apply. You can carry it in your makeup bag and re-apply using your fingertips or the stick for touchups. It works the best on my dry skin in current weather, I am not sure how I would feel during the summer. Let me know if you have tried this foundation and what you think.
