Make Up For Ever is introducing a new Lipstick line Artist Rouge ($27 each for 0.12 oz) in Mat and Crème textures. These are a collection of highly pigmented bold lipsticks that provides comfort and long-wear at the same time. These Artist Rouge collection is 25% more pigmented than the original Rouge Artist Intense with lots of classic and trendy colors to please every one. Both textures are super creamy and intense plus it keeps the lips well hydrated with ultimate comfort.
A closer look to the Artist Rouge textures and colors:
- MAT- which is an ultra mat lipstick with more like a velvety finish and yet won’t dry lip. It comes in 16 colors with lots of classic colors like nudes, reds and pinks.
- Crème- which carries very intense colors but can be worn like natural looking with creamy finish. Comes in 32 colors with lots of classic and trendy colors like blues and black.
These Artist Rouge lipsticks are formulated with soothing oils to nourish and keep lips well hydrated. The lasting power is amazing especially with the matte lipstick, and as many of you know I’m a firm believer of using lip pencils to extend the life of lipsticks even though these lipsticks claim to stay on lips for 8-10 hours. I also felt the Mat finish stays longer and it’s perfect for a bold matte finish look. On other hand Crème finish texture is also on dryer side, I found they are not much creamy but it have a great longevity and pigmentation than any other lipstick in the market, it glides onto the lips easily without looking dry.
It carries a very precise tip (teardrop shape) like bullet which helps to contour lips with sharp and clean edges – where there is no need for a lip pencil. I have a medium size lips and it fitted my lips perfectly. I found both don’t crease especially the mat finish – doesn’t move at all. I would still suggest to contour lips with a matching lip liner in same color with crème one. The packaging is also very sleek – it’s almost same as Artist Rouge Intense with few updates. Matte black tube with silver ring around the bottom with iconic craved sign of the brand.
Most of the colors are permanent – except some shades are limited edition like M401 Hot Red in Mat finish and C603 Midnight Blue from Crème collection is limited edition and to be honest it was so hard for me to choose one favorite color to share with you all, there were many colors that I couldn’t make a decision. All I can say – I like my Nudes and Browns in mat finish and pinks and reds in crème finish, I’m sure there is some thing new for every one to choose from the collection.
