Huda Beauty Discoveries -#Fauxfilter Luminous Matte Conealer, Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder & Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencil

Huda has been an idol for me as a beauty blogger and I have been seeing her grow over the years. I am very excited to test and try her beauty products. It did take me a long to test her beauty line, but I was very impressed with her Empowered eyeshadow palette (reviewed here) I find the palette is gorgeous and it’s definitely a must-have for any beauty lover. Today I have her #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Concealer, Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencil Liners for review.

The Faux Filter Concealer is a full-coverage concealer with a matte finish but quite hydrating and with a great range of shades that are quite impressive. As many know, I have an obsession with complexion products, and I am quite picky when it comes to concealers especially concealer with full coverage and matte finish. To be honest, I haven’t tried anything like this concealer before – I am Impressed!! Before I apply to my under-eye area, I swatched at the back of my hand to feel the texture and its performance – I was blown away. The formula feels quite hydrating with a good blending texture that allows it to completely melts into the skin before it sets completely- it looks just like skin. It is crease-proof and doesn’t emphasize the fine lines or add any texture to the skin.

The Conealer is meant to brighten and conceal the area but I find you do need to correct it if you have deep dark circles. I was sent two shades from the brand – Royal Icing (Neutral Undertone) and Yogurt drops (beige Undertone – it looks more pinky) I find both shades are about 3 shades lighter than my skin. I personally like to keep my concealer 1 or 2 shades lighter but if you’re really into adding more dimension to the complexion then 3 shades lighter would work. For me, I ordered the shade Coconut Flake which is a good match for my skin tone. It is definitely long-wearing, You can wear it with full coverage by applying a brush or layering it but you can also wear it every day by diluting it with an eye serum and it will perform quite well.

I love that the formula is hydrating, waterproof and fragrance-free which is a huge thumbs up. This would be an excellent concealer for hot summer days or places with a hot and humid climate. You know it is a good concealer when a full coverage conealer performs so well during the cold winter months on dry skin – it is really impressive.

As many know me I try to stay away from powders but recently I have managed to find ways to use powder under my eye area. I have heard very great reviews from my favourite makeup artists that I trust and bloggers about Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder. This is an easy-to-use and finds a loose powder that immediately gives that airbrushed finish look while doesn’t emphasize fine lines as well as doesn’t make skin dry at all. When it comes to setting the under-eye area, one thing I learned is that hydrate (like really hydrate) the area with moisturizers, and serums in order to get that flawless finish otherwise no matter what kind of powder you use, you’re going to end up with cakey under eye area.

I personally love to apply my under-eye setting powder with a damp beauty sponge with a minimal amount possible. The shade range is quite impressive, there is quite an amazing range of undertones. I find the powder really doesn’t add any colour to the skin. I got to try it in Pound Cake which matches my skin beautifully.

Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencils have been on my radar for a very long time. The formula is really hydrating and glides smoothly over the lips with great lasting power. Wearing Pinky Brown in the image. Here is a look at the 3 shades:

  • Rich Brown is a deep brown that gives a nice definition to the lips and this shade is quite trending
  • Terracotta is a nice deep beige with warm undertones
  • Pinky Brown is a nice deep pink with warm undertones

As a nude lip lover, I have been obsessed with Terracotta and Pinky Brown both shades enhance lips beautifully and give that nice neutral look. There is an amazing range of neutral in the collection with different undertones.

Bottom line, I am Impressed!! I think these have hit my vanity for as they’re becoming my stables for my makeup looks. The Fauxfilter Luminous Matte Conealer has everything I look for in a concealer. There is enough coverage, hydrating formula with great lasting power and doesn’t look cakey at all. The powder is one that I will reach out to set under the eye area, the formula is quite amazing. Lastly, the Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencils definitely has become essential to my makeup routine. I am glad I finally tried her line, I really want to try more from her beauty line. Let me know if you have tried it or have a favourite from Huda Beauty.
