Fenty | Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundaion

Today I have the review for the new Fenty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation (C$45.00 for 1.08 oz/ 32 mL). I’ve been a loving the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation for the past couple of months. It’s a good matte foundation that stays input and flawless on skin, although I have a dry skin but with a little bit skin prep it works amazingly. While the new Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation is a long-wear hydrating foundation that feels comfortable on skin with a medium coverage. It comes in a pump tube and 50 shades to choose from with different undertones to please every one. I was really pleased with color range it’s absolutely amazing.  I love how this foundation doesn’t oxidize and stays true to its color. My shade is 185 which I can easily pick any of the basis from the brand with the same number.

This Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation is totally the opposite of the Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. On me it has a nice blurring effect with a good coverage but still skin looks luminous and fresh. It noticeably smooth out pores and doesn’t emphasize fine lines and wrinkles. The finish of the foundation is very natural and is designed for dry-normal skin texture. Lasting power is really good – I noticed it stays really well with a good long-lasting primer, other than that you really need to set the foundation with a setting powder or need retouch up after 5-6 hours on hot – humid days (especially around mouth and nose area) while I think it will wear longer on dryer and colder days yet for me this is another hit for winter time. In general I try to match the brands foundations with their primers because they’re often formulated to be compatible with each other but since I have been testing the new It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer+ for reviewing purposes I have been wearing it with the Fenty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation for couple of times and found the combination is amazing. I found with this primer it stays longer and offer better coverage. The foundation layers beautifully which makes this foundation buildable and it wears nicely with a beauty blender. I have been wearing it with the Fenty Precision Makeup Sponge 100 and it finishes the foundation nicely.

I still don’t like the finish of powder with this foundation, it makes my skin look dry and patchy. I don’t mind reapplying my foundation, I usually carry my foundation or a concealer with me all the time and it never bothers me to refresh my complexion at any time. But using a loose powder softly overall sets the foundation in place.

Overall a thumbs up for this new Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation. It’s a good hydrating foundation and I’m happy I was able to get to try this. I would say it’s not a good foundation for summer time but its a good foundation for dry skin for the more dryer and colder months. I do need a touch up on warmer days probably mid day, but it lasts long on my skin and I do touch my face a lot. I love how natural it looks on skin and give me that glow that comes from within. It has a good medium buildable coverage and enough to cover my uneven skin and freckles. You can find this Pro filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundating in Sephora.
