I have been testing some newly launched mascaras and thought to share a comprehensive lineup post which would be helpful. Mascara is one of the makeup product that I use pretty much every day and probably one of my favorite beauty product so I always look to try new ones. My top five tried and true have been Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara & HYPNÔSE DRAMA Instant Full Body Volume Mascara, Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, It Cosmetics It Hero Mascara and Benefit Cosmetics BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara (yes I couldn’t pick three). I have pretty good length lashes and most of the times a volumizing mascara does the job for me. I personally use two mascaras at the same time to get length and volume since I believe often times they excel in one area either volume or length. I also look for the ones that offer lashes a nice curls with no smudging or if not I use a water-proof one to prevent the smudging part.

- Kat Von D Go Big Or Go Home (C$30 for 0.33 oz.)
- Stila Cosmetics Magnum XXX™ Mascara (C$30 for 0.40 oz.)
It Cosmetics Lash Blowout Mascara
Lash Blowout is the latest from It Cosmetics. I have loved their It Hero Mascara to the most and I have been reaching out to it probably most of the times. This one gives mega volume and is infused with biotin which promotes stronger and healthier looking hair. This mascara was developed in partnership with Drybar which was inspired by the technology used to create Drybar Barrel brushes that offer volume and curl to the hair. The wand is designed in a way that feature microspheres to gently catch-all of the lashes for a nice separation and gives an amazing lift. It doesn’t smudge nor clumps. After testing this mascara I found the volumizing part is as good as any other volumizing mascara but I found that the lifting part is more noticeable part than any other mascara.
Urban Decay Perversion Waterproof Mascara
This is latest from Urban Decay Cosmetics, unfortunately I haven’t tried the original formula so I really can’t compare , but I think it’s a very good mascara but it’s not my favorite as it cannot give me enough volume and curl. What it does do is give a nice decent volume, plus intense color. It stays on all day with zero smudging which I loved the most. I’m not a huge lover for waterproof mascaras since they don’t come off easily and you get the raccoon looking eyes for the next couple of days but not with this mascara. It doesn’t smudge on my eye crease at all and it comes off easily. I have been loving it combine with a good volumizing or curling mascara and it works!
Kat Von D Go Big Or Go Home Mascara
This is a newly formula from Kat Von D, it has a chubby brush that is infused with plant-base blend of waxes from olive and sunflower oils which provides an extreme volume. The formula is smudge resistant and long wearing which is a huge thumbs up for me. The formula comes off easily with regular Marcellar makeup remover. This is one of those mascaras where I get the full volume effect without spending time brushing out my lashes. The really curls out the lashes to the max. I think everyone’s mileage may vary, but this one gives me good volume without any clumping. You can really go voluminous with this one by building it up without caking it on.
Stila Cosmetics Magnum XXX Mascara
This one has a chubby brush that mimics the 3D printed design. It gives a nice volume with a single stroke. The formula feels really comfortable on lashes, initially I thought it would be identical to the Kat Von D Go Big Go Home Mascara but once I tested them side by side I found the Kat Von D Go Big Or Go Home give significantly more volume and is more intense. This one gives enough volume and curls to the lashes to open up the eyes. The formula contains one-percent diamond powder for a more dramatic black color which is noticeable.
At the end these are some of my fall mascara rotation that I discovered which I feel are among pretty good mascaras. Finding a mascara can be tricky, it’s either hot or miss depending on your lash type and length. My top 5 are still there, and non of the these mascaras have replace them. I think the Kat Von D Go Big Or Go Home is a winner for fall! I’m also loving the Urban Decay’s waterproof formula that can be paired with any other of my favorite to stop my mascara from smudging. Yet both Stila Cosmetics Magnum XXX Mascara and It Cosmetics Lash Blowout Mascara gives a nice lifted and curled look that stays really nice through out the day.
