The Estée Edit | Fluid Metal EyeShadows in Party of 1, So Extra and Don’t Be Afraid

The Estée Edit have just launched a new line of liquid eyeshadows with a glossy metallic finish Fluid Metal Eyeshadows (C$28.00 each for 0.10 oz/ 3 ml) Limited Edition and exclusive at Sephora. These Fluid Metal Eyeshadows are highly pigmented with 12 hour of non-fading wear. They come in six beautiful high-shine and pearly finishes. The texture is creamy and you can get the true color within one swipe. I got to tryout the three shades from the brand for reviewing purposes and I was stunt by swatching them at first sight. I loved how the texture is lightweight yet delivers a full on glam finish without fading or flaking. The three colors includes:

  • Party of 1 – is a beautiful baby pink with multicolored pearls.

  • So Extra – is a oil slick with green, purple, and blue duo-chrome pearls.

  • Don’t Be Afraid – is a deep blackberry with pops of violet sparkle.

You can wear these eyeshadows multiple ways. You can layer them to get a full coverage finish, smudge it with your finger tips while wet for a wash out look or use it as your eyeliner with a liner brush. These eyeshadows can be worn alone or layered with powder eyeshadows easily – I would prefer if you want to wear them with a powder eyeshadow to wear the Fluid Metal eyeshadows on top of powder eyeshadow, it gives much better finish to the look. As well as you can wear it as an accent sparkle shadow. If you’re some one who loves to play with sparkles I think these are amazing. I personally hate the fact that I always get sparkles fall out, making my under eye area and cheeks looking messy (that’s why I avoid wearing sparkles) but I was very impressed with these eyeshadows. I used my finger tips for the application as well as you can use a flat eyeshadow brush. You can definitely get more coverage with flat brush and the applicator itself as with fingers you get more blended and softer look. I have a hooded eyes and most of the times the cream base eyeshadows do smudge in between my eyelids and crease but not with Fluid Metal eyeshadows. I was very impressed with the staying power, it lasted the whole day for me without creasing or smudging. The Party of 1 color doesn’t go with my skin tone at all since I have hooded eyes the light pinky shades makes it more obvious. But I have been loving wearing the So Extra and Don’t Be Afraid colors.
How I have been wearing :

Day look – after wearing eyeshadow primer use a transition powder shade on crease (any contouring color with warm under tone would be nice to use as a transition color) and apply the Fluid Metal eyeshadow with your finger tips concentrating on the center of the eyes. As well as you can use a liner brush to use it as your eyeliner.

Night look – start with a dark eyeshadow crayon (I used the Eyestudio Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon reviewed here) as your base for – So Extra and Don’t Be Afraid colors as a primer. Use a transition shade on crease (any warm tone powder eyeshadow would work). I would prefer to use your finger tips first to get a well blended look to apply the Fluid Metal eyeshadow starting from eyelid up ward and then use a small flat eyeshadow brush or the applicator itself to layer the product to add more intensity to the look. You can definitely use it under the eye area as well to get a full smoky look.

The Fluid Metal Eyeshadows comes in metal twist packaging with a clear portion to see the product inside. The flexible and slanted paddle applicator deposits a perfect amount of product for application. But I haven’t really used the applicator for application purposes. I love how the twist and lock packaging really seals the product in for keeping the eyeshadow from drying out.
The Fluid Metal Eyeshadow are available at Sephora and Esteelauder.ca.

The Fluid Metal Eyeshadows were provided by The Estee Edit team for review.
