Dr. Dennis Gross has launched a new products Instant Radiance Sun Defense ($42 for 1.7 fl oz / 50 ml) Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 about two weeks ago. This product was sent out to me for review purpose, and I am thrilled to introduce it to my readers since I am amazed of how great this product turned out for me just after using it for couple of weeks now. This Instant Radiance Sun Defense is an illuminating tinted moisturizer which evens out the skin tone as well as it protects the skin from the harmful free radicals and UVA/UVB rays with broad-spectrum SPF 40. It comes in two different shades to cover all skin tones Light to Medium and Medium to Deep, Light to Medium was a perfect match to my skin. This product is free of Paraben, Curley and Phthalate which is always great to know.

The texture is very creamy but still lightweight so it feels like skin and blends naturally, since I had the opportunity to try both shades I took the advantage to play around with both shades. I find both worked great for me by applying the light to medium all over and medium to deep as my contouring shade. The Instant Radiance Sun Defense provides a sheer but buildable coverage, but I found the coverage was not enough for me, I loved it for every day as no-makeup make-up day but still I had to top it with concealer on spots to give me the right amount of coverage I needed. Having said that you can always apply some powder foundation to get more coverage and to make it stay longer. I also did mixed with some full coverage foundation to get a little more coverage when I needed, this way you’re adding a glow to your foundation plus the benefit of a sunscreen at the same time.

For lasting power it lasts all day long on my face, even though it’s directed to reapply every two hours but I could only do two times the whole day. It is incredibly hydrating, I am not sure how it would work on oily skin but unlike some other hydrating tinted moisturizers and sunscreens, it didn’t slide off or look like it separated in any areas, so I was really impressed with how well it lasted. Both shades carries little golden sparkles which instantly gives skin a gorgeous glow but I find it was more noticeable on Medium to Deep shade.

Bottom line I like how it performs right now at this time of year, it has become one of my must for my every day essentials. It has soothing properties that helps calm the skin. It evens out the complexion with lightweight coverage while it carries a great amount of SPF to protect the skin and making it glow during the summer time. For evenings out it’s perfect because it gives the skin a nice glow (with those little golden sparkles) and without any daylight heat you don’t have to worry so much about it getting too glowy. The Instant Radiance Sun Defense is something I know I will use up entirely, but once the warmer season approaches, it will be a nice hydrating sunscreen for my skin type (which is dry sensitive). If you’re one with dry skin, I think you will really like this one.
