Giorgio Armani | Power Fabric Foundation

When it comes to the foundation – Armani Beauty’s foundations are always on top of the list. Their Luminous Silk foundation is still on my radar yet I was super excited to try out their Power Fabric Foundation (C$74.00 for 30 mL/1.0 fl oz). This foundation carries a matte texture and comes in 20 shades that contain SPF 25. Having dry skin I take a step back when it comes to matte formulas, I had high hopes from Armani Beauty, and having said that I immediately put out the foundation to the test. I have been testing the formula for the past two weeks and I must admit that it has hit in my top 3 foundation lists.

I received 3 shades (#3,#5 & #6.5) as a sample from the brand which I was super happy that two of the shades worked on my skin. #5 was a perfect match to my skin while #3 is a little light but I was able to still work with some bronzers to make it work on my skin, while #6.5 was a little too dark for my skin tone. The texture of the foundation is creamy yet it feels like velvet on the skin, I can apply it smoothly with my finger as well as beauty blender worked very well with the foundation. I personally loved it with It Cosmetics Heavenly Lux Flat foundation brush which gives me a full coverage finish yet streak-free. Coverage is full without looking flat or powdery, but I found if you have dry skin you may need to prep the skin very well before application with a hydrating primer to get that seamless look. I have been prepping my skin with the Makeup For Ever’s Ultra HD Skin Booster which gives me a super flawless finish. It pretty much covers everything from redness to all dark spots and freckles. Plus I pretty much didn’t need to use any kind of concealers, I did a little color correcting under the eye area and the foundation covers up everything you need to cover. For me two pumps were good enough to cover my entire face – a little goes a long way with this foundation. I personally didn’t need to set the foundation with a setting powder, it sets pretty well with great lasting power and minimal touch-ups. I loved the coverage and texture that it gives skin without looking cakey.

Before and after swatches with shade #5.

I also found the shades are quite close in shade but different in undertone, I can wear #4 and #5 where both are the same shade with a different undertone. #5 is more with a pink undertone. I loved the packaging, it carries the same iconic foundation packaging but with frosted glass and with a pump dispenser. It doesn’t oxidize, you may see the shade look a little brighter than what you see because of the SPF but it will turn out fine once you apply. I was respectively impressed with their shade range but you may want to try out the shades in person before you purchase. I also was able to kind of play around with the shades and work the #3 and #6.5 mix together to match it with my skin.

Pure Love! I have been super impressed with the performance and quality of the new Power Fabric Foundation, I feel it’s going to one of the hits for me this summer season since the weather is going to get hot and humid. It’s a perfect foundation to reach for parties and occasions especially for its finish and lasting power. It stays input without much-needed to touch up, I personally barely got touch up while wearing this foundation which a huge thumbs up for me. You can find the new Power Fabric Foundation available at all Giorgio Armani’s counters at all department stores as well as Sephora.
