Giorgio Armani Beauty | Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer & Prima’ Smart Moisture Serum

Latest from Armani Beauty is the new Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer & Prima’ Smart Moisture Serum. I’m new to their complexion or in other word skin care products, in a sense I have been very nerves and I had a very close observation on how it would turn out on my skin. I have been loving their makeup line and now I can confidently go and pick their bases. But this time there is a hit and miss moment for me.
First going over the Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer which just recently been launched. This is an ultra smooth and hydrating primer. As many of you know I’m not a huge fun of primers in generals and just time to time I use them. I have a couple of favorite ones that works for my skin but other than that a good hydrating serum, mist or facial oil works like wonders on my skin with my foundation. I was supper excited to try out this new Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer for the fact that I tried out their Glow on Moisturizing Balm during their Master Class that was held in Toronto and I felt in love with it immediately. The texture is light and disappears completely on skin while adding a nice radiance and foundation applies smoothly. Its infused with sea butter and rich bran and glycerin that leaves skin feeling smoother and softer.
I really had a high expectations with this primer since this really retails among the most expensive primers. My all time favorite primer is the Airflash Radiance Mist Primer & Setting Spray from Dior. I can say that this product was a hit for me. The primer makes skin look plump and fresh which is a huge thumbs up for my dry skin. My skin is really sensitive and can’t tolerate high ingredient of Alcohol and perfume. Here is a quick look at the ingredient list:
Aqua/Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Bis-Peg/Ppg-14/14 Dimethicone, Isododecane, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Sodium Chloride, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tribehenin, Dimethicone/Polyglycerin-3 Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Mica, Ci 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ethyl Menthane Carboxamide, Propylene Glycol, Propylene Carbonate, Dipropylene Glycol, Tin Oxide, Rosa Gallica Flower Extract, Sorbitol, Ci 19140 / Yellow 5, Ci 14700 / Red 4, Tocopherol.
Up next is from their Prima Skincare line Prima’ Smart Moisture Serum (C$138.99 for 1.01 oz.) is super lightweight moisturizing serum. I was really excited to try out their skin care line finally! But unfortunately the Serum did not meet my high expectations. I feel there is quite high amount of fragrance and Alcohol in the formula which irritate my skin. Although the irritation was not too intense which I am glad but over all it made my skin to go red and after I had quite some small pumps on my face especially around the chin area. Here is a quick look at the ingredient list:
Aqua/Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Peg/Ppg/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin, Litchi Chinensis Pericarp Extract, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Dimethiconol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Adenosine, Poloxamer 338, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Disodium Edta, Caprylyl Glycol, Carrageenan, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Biosaccharide Gum-1, T-Butyl Alcohol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Bht, Phenoxyethanol, Ci 19140/Yellow 5, Ci 75470/Carmine, Ci 77163/Bismuth Oxychloride, Mica, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Parfum/Fragrance.

Although the texture and the feel of the serum was wonderful. I felt it was not a product that I would go crazy (normally I do when I like a some thing from skin care). I loved the packaging and look of the product but .. I wasn’t able to continue testing the formula because it didn’t want to damage my skin.

At the end there is a hit and miss for me. The Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer is a good primer to prep the skin hydrated and plumped before makeup application. I loved that the formula carries a nice radiance and gets into the skin immediately. While I’m not able to give the Prima Smart Moisture Serum a positive review. If you have a very sensitive skin you may want to do a patch test first to try out the formula while it could work for those with a normal skin and may work for others. It really depends on your skin type and how far you can go with some ingredients. As I mentioned the irritation was very mild using it one time.
