Dior | Metallics Automne/Fall 2017

Dior always comes in with the best in the makeup line. This time Dior is introducing Metallics for Automne/Fall 2017. The collection is more about contrast with opulent colours and rich textures which gives a clash between vibrant metallics and muted mattes. These shades and colours gives a very sophisticated look and effects to the finish of the makeup. This years Metallics for Automne/Fall 2017 collection contains:

  • Screaming Metal for eyes and lips
  • Paradoxical Light 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes in two colors
  • Diorshow Bold Brow
  • Rouge Dior
  • Dior Contour Lip Pencils

Up first is the Screaming Metal for Eyes and lips (C$32.00 each) comes in five beautiful metal effect shades. This is one of the latest hybrid product from Dior house, bringing a new trend to the makeup world – pigmented eyes and lips. The texture is ultra light and creamy, it melts into the skin upon application and feels like skin. You can use finger tips for more sheer out chrome look or apply with a flat eyeshadow brush for a bolder finish on eyelid. You can also wear them on the lips alone or on top of your lipstick to add a nice metallic finish to your lips. I received these in two shades:

  • Platine Fusion – is a light rose gold tone.
  • Bronze Tension – is a dark chocolate-brown with a plum under tone.

Both shades makes a perfect base for eye shadow as well as it looks amazing by itself. I have been wearing them together using my finger tip for application. These layer amazingly on top of each other creating more metallic dimension to the eye. I would say these are a multi-tasking product, I find some of the light colors like Platine Fusion works great to use as highlighter. I was amazed with the lasting power and it’s performance. They come in tube packaging where it keeps the product from drying.

Next is the Paradoxical Light 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes (C$72.00 each) in Magnetize and Hypnotize. Both palettes plays with shades that have different texture contrasting between matte and shine. These Palettes carries dark matte and glittery foil like shades. I was very disappointed when I received the Hypnotize broken in the press kit. I was not able to get a close up shot of it to show how beautiful it looks. The 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes are wearable all season, especially if you’re some one like me who loves to create Smokey eyes.

  • Magnetize – features forested grey with cooler grey under tones, black with silver glitters and foil colors.
  • Hypnotize – features warm brown, chocolate and exuberant brick tones as well as shimmery and glittery golds.

Up next is the Diorshow Bold Brow (C$34.00) which finishes the look by framing the face. These comes in three versatile shades (Light, Medium and Dark). While full brows are trending right now this is one of the best products to get into your makeup routine. The texture is enriched with microfibers to achieve a fuller brow shape and keeps the brows input all day long. These Diorshow Bold Brow are also infused with Vitamin (E,B5 and B8) which helps fortify brows instantly and over time with each application. It comes in mini brush an applicator for more control on application.
I have a nice shaped eyebrows which I do need to fill in just to show them a bit bolder other wise they look pretty fine without any thing. I find this a perfect on the go brow applicator, especially for the days that I’m on the run and don’t have the time to fill in the brows. The Diorshow Bold Brow fills in the brows naturally and keep them input nicely throughout the day.

Last but not least is the new five addition to the Rouge Dior (C$43.00 each) shades for fall 2017 and new matching shades of Dior Contour (C$ 36.00 each) lip pencil to the Rouge Dior. The shades contain of nudes, chocolate browns and orange.
I received the Rouge Dior and Dior Contour in:

  • Egnimatic – is a dark chocolate-brown with a glossy finish.
  • Hypnotic matte – is a beautiful dusty rose nude with semi matte finish.

I have been in love with both shades, they’re both very wearable during the day and night. I feel like we are getting out of matte lipstick phase for fall and winter, the texture of these are not matte at all. The Hypnotic Matte carries a semi matte finish texture where the Egnimatic have a very glossy finish.

Bottom line I can’t get enough of this collection. I felt the collection carries a variety of colors and textures to play with. The Creative and Image Director for Dior Peter Philips have nailed the fall collection by the clash of vibrant metallics and mattes at the same time. The colors and shades are well-coordinated with each other where it makes it easy to wear them during the day and night while you can get most out of it. I was supper excited to get my hands to try out the whole collection and have been very impressed with the items from the collection. Dior Metallics is available at all Dior counters as well as online at Dior.com.

Many thanks to the Dior team for sending the Metallics collection for editorial purposes.
