When it comes to Korean Beauty products my inner lover for the KB wakes up. This time I was supper thrilled to try out one of the luxury KB Beauty brands Sulwhasoo. Sulwhasoo is one of the well-known Korean Beauty brands that carries mainly a great range of skin care products. I was able to get my hands to one their best-selling serum. Today I’m reviewing:
- First Care Activating Serum
- Perfecting Cushion Brightening SPF 50+
Up First is the First Care Activating Serum (C$105 for 60mL) is one of Korea’s no,1 selling serum for the past 20 years. This is a first step serum that is applied right after cleansing the complexion to hydrate and nourish the skin. The First is the First Care Activating Serum replenishes the dehydrated skin and activates skin’s energy and vitality. The texture is supper light that feels like water and absorbs immediately into the skin and leaves skin nourished and radiant. It is formulates with JAUM Balancing Complex which is a five Korean herbal ingredients for concentrated and comprehensive skin care. It allows your beauty products for deeper absorption.
I have been introduced this to my morning and nightly skin care routine the day I got my hands into it, it have been a week and my skin looks luminous, well hydrated and much more healthier. I found one pump was good enough to cover my entire face and another to go over the neck area and finally finish it on my hands.
Up next is the Perfecting Cushion Brightening SPF 50+ foundation (C$90 each + refill) that is a multifunctional and lightweight cushion foundation for a more brighter looking skin all day long. It carries a semi matte finish with a sheer coverage. This Perfecting Cushion foundation comes in 7 different shades to cover all skin tones. Its formulated with Magnolia extract and Licorice Purifying water to promote clear, even and brighter looking skin while the SPF 50+ protects the skin from harsh UVA and UVB rays.
The shade range is quite limited especially for darker skin tones, and I found there are many lighter shades with different under tones. I received it in Light Beige which I matches my skin nicely, it’s a little lighter than my skin but I think its going to be perfect during the winter months. I have swatched and compared it to the Laneige Cushion foundation and La Prairie’s Cushion foundation.
Both Sulwhasoo and Laneige carries the same sheer coverage but with different texture. The Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion foundation carries a semi matte finish where the Laneige Cushion foundation have a very radiant texture – where La Prairie’s Cushion foundation is full coverage with radiant finish. But other than that the packaging and quality are very similar. You still need a nice concealer to cover any dark circles and spots. The lasting power is pretty good, reapplication is required after 6 or 7 hours of wear, otherwise it stays fresh and input. The packaging is also travel friendly and comes with a good size mirror and sponge applicator for touch up. It fits easily to your makeup bag and hang bag.
First Care Activating Serum EX and Perfecting Cushion Brightening SPF 50+ is a hit for me. I have been loving the light weight yet hydrating factor about this First Care Activating Serum Ex, it performers amazing on skin.
