YSL | Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipstick

Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

There are quite some new lip balm formulas this season and yet I have some of the new Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipsticks ($50.00) for review. YSL beauty just launched Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipstick in ten beautiful shades. I have been in love with their Volupte Plump-in-Color Lip Balms since last year (reviewed here) as well as their other lip formulas that have been a must have for me.

These are vibrant colored balm lipsticks that comes with some glitters in core with a star shape that adds a nice sparkling finish. The formula is quite nice and hydrating that adds a lush coat of moisture on the lips while it requires smooth lips for a flawless application. It gives a subtle shimmer look that is wearable at any time. The shimmers/glitters aren’t loose on lips while they’re quite fine so it doesn’t look chunky. It carries a soft fresh mango scent which I find it delicious. Yet it comes in a sliver casing that features a touch of glitter on the cap evoking the star on the lipstick.

Closer look at the Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipsticks:

  • Rock N’ Red – is a nice soft red with blue under tone
  • Orange Speaker – is a super bright and fresh orange shade
  • Pink Bass – is a perfect rosy pink shade

There are quite some beautiful shades in the collection from soft rosy nudes to bold oranges and nice deep reds. I received them in three different shades that I absolutely loved. They have noticeable coverage and you can get a nice decent color on your lips within two or three swipes. They layer quite nicely to get it from sheer to a medium coverage finish. Here is a quick comparison swatches of the Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipsticks to the Volupte Plump-in-Color Lip Balms.

Bottom line I loved the new finish and texture of these new Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipsticks on my lips. Lasting power is average while it leaves a nice soft tint on the lips that looks natural. I don’t mind reapplying this lipstick at all. I have always loved the YSL beauty’s lipstick formulas and this one is a bit especial for its finish. Its easy to apply and for me as a nude lipstick lover, #10 is a favorite for sure at this time. I can wear it very easily and looks really nice with my skin tone. But I also loved the other shades for some date nights. If you’re some one who likes soft lipstick feel with a nice shimmery finish this one is really nice. You can now find these newness available at all Sephora, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.

YSL | Volupte Plump-in-Color Lip Balm

The Volupte Plump-in-Color (C$45 for 0.12 oz) is a collection of multitasking lip balm that offers an immediate volumizing effect with a rich and nourishing texture. I think initially they were launched two years ago and they have continued with collection while adding new limited edition shades each season, yet not to forget it is one of the best-selling lip balms. These Lip Balms are infused with coconut oil to keep the lips nourished, hyaluronic acid which hydrates and locks the moisture for a smooth and soft looking lips while the peppermint oil provides a cooling sensation for a fresh looking lips. They come in 8 beautiful shades to wear and have the cutest little heart shape in the centre of the lip balm. I got to test three shades from the brand which includes:

  • Mad Nude which is a nice warm nude shade with a universal under tone, the color is undetectable on the lips and gives a nice shine.
  • Insane Pink is a beautiful bright fuscia shade that really brightens up the look.
  • Exposing Coral is a gorgeous true coral shade.

The texture of these balms are soft and carries that jelly like feel into it. It has a sheer and transparent finish, if you liked the Dior Lip Glow Reviver Lip Balms I would suspect you would love these too. I found you can see your natural lip colour with nude shades while the deeper and brighter shades carries a good amount of colors to cover your lips nicely. The packaging carries the iconic lipstick YSL lipstick with silver finish. I’m Balm lover girl, I love the nourishing emollient feel and its super easy to apply while it adds a very fresh look to your over all look.

Since the coverage is sheer, it will look different on you depending on your natural lip color. I also found that the peppermint oil gives a really noticeable sensation, especially when you go back and forth longer with the balms, I would suggest to try it and see how you like the feeling of it.

As a lip balm lover, I loved the formula and the luxurious look of these lip balms. The presentation is absolutely amazing and Insane pink is a favorite shade of mine. I love to keep my lips neutral and rosy especially during the day and I find these are great. As many of you know I love to carry my lip balms since it rescue my look at any time and any where. I have already threw them in my purse.
At the end I truly love them, I think every one should check them once you’re at Sephora or at the YSL beauty counter. Since Valentines Day is just around the corner and I think these makes a perfect gift to your loved ones. You can find the YSL Volupte Plum-in-Color Lip Balm at all YSL counters now and you can also find them online and in store at Sephora and Nordstrom.

Yves Saint Laurent | Vernis à Lèvres Lip Wardrobe

Yves Saint Laurent’s lipsticks are always really dreamy. They’re always known for their quality and luxuries look. The Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Lips & Cheeks and Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick  have been my favorite of all times. YSL beauty have sent me three of their lipstick formulas, as a lipstick lover I was thrilled to try out the new Vernis à Lèvres Lipstick formulas. I received the Glossy Stain Pop water, Glossy Stain Lip Color and the Vinyl Cream Lip Stain. Packaging definitely pays an important role when it comes to luxury beauty products for me, and I was very impressed with the looks of all three lipsticks. All three formulas comes in same like packaging but with different applicator top to differ each from another. They carry a nice diamond shaded applicator which allows for more precise application and it glides on smoothly all over lips. I found the applicator very unique some thing that you want to experience in person.

Starting from Glossy Stain Pop water this gives lips a juicy wash of color and feels like lush once you apply them. They carry a very jelly like texture with high shine and an amazing lasting power. Recently I’m getting obsessed over the jelly finish lips look, I think it’s going to be a big trend this summer or next. The Pop Water gives lips a nice smooth finish and a tint of color which I think is perfect for the summer days while you’re on the go. They come in 13 beautiful shade and I received it in 203 Eau De Corail, which is a very soft peachy pink color with a soft coral under tone. I think it’s a perfect nude shades that enhances all skin tones.
Glossy Stain Lip Color also carries the same texture as Pop Water but with more color pigment. It carries a nice soft color just enough to add color to the lips, it’s not like traditional lip stains at all. Again with pretty good lasting power and it doesn’t smudge and smear at all. These also carries high shine which adds a nice glossy finish to the lips. These comes in 38 amazing shades and I received it in color 12 Coril Fauve which is a coral pink color. Perfect shade to take your from day to-night.
Vinyl Cream Lip Stain this is a high coverage liquid lipstick with high shine and with comfort wear. The lasting power is amazing without feeling any thing on lips. It lasts through out the night without budging or migrating from the lips. I honestly loved the formula, it stayed input fresh on my lips all night after application and the creamy texture kept my lips nice and smooth without drying at all. I believe these comes in 13 colors that most of them carries more bold shades. I received this in 401 Rouge Vinyle which is a beautiful and classic red which any girl need it in their lip wardrobe. A perfect shade that goes well with all skin tones, although I don’t wear bold shades as much but this one is a perfect red color that went very well with my skin tone.

Bottom line a huge thumbs up for these Vernis à Lèvres Lip collection from YSL. If you’re some who loves to collect some luxury lipsticks these are some thing you really need to give it a try. It was very hard for me to pick a favorite from these, since each has a very unique formula and texture for different occasions. I found all three formulas are phenomenal in terms of quality, performance and lasting power.

Many thanks to the YSL team for sending this Vernis à Lèvres Lip Wardrobe.
