Lancôme just introduced a highly rich pigmented lipstick line L’Absolu Rouge Ruby (C$41.00). This is one of the most luxurious looking lipsticks I’ve tried by far – all high-impact bold colors, and they’re inspired by red rubies and designed with crystal shaped bullet which makes these look supper luminous. The crystal shaped bullet helps for a more precise application. L’Absolu Rouge Ruby comes in 14 beautiful ruby shades. The lipsticks are formulated with Pro-Xylane which replenishes lips with moisture which makes it perfect to wear during the dry and windy fall and winter months. They’re also infused wit Rose Flower Extract and Tourmaline which soothes, softens and helps lips appear more radiant.

I received them in four shades which includes:
- Queen Ruby is a beautiful brick red ruby with warm under tone
- Kiss Me Ruby is a nice dusty rose red ruby
- Ruby Passion is a perfect nude
- Pigeon Blood Ruby is a gorgeous burgundy red ruby
The lipsticks are rich in texture and opaque yet the finish is smooth and streak-free. All these performed equally well for me. For colors this bold I personally do find my self lining my edges of lips with a lip brush or a nice matte finish lip liner which will prevent from smearing. And believe it or not it really finishes the lips beautifully. The colors covers the lips entirely with one swipe. I think some of the them look best when blotted slightly (personal preference) – it will last longer as well. I absolutely loved the color range while they’re inspired from red rubies there are quite some beautiful nude shades in the collection with different under tones.
I wear colors as bold as these only some times, I either wear it during a especial occasion or Fall season is the only time of the year that I feel wearing ruby or deep berry shades. I’m a neutral lip lover just because I feel most comfortable in but despite that I loved the deep shades. Im really pleased to see that Lancôme came up with such increditble color selection. I really wasn’t able to pick one favorite shade from the collection, they’re all so beautiful and wearable. The lasting power of the colors was excellent – they do leave a nice stain on the lips which makes lips nice and tinted.
