I have been a little away from reviewing beauty products for the past year and it was due to some personal priorities i made. To be honest, I only had some very limited product discoveries but I am back at full beauty reviews and will share a lot of new beauty launches with you all in coming days. Sharing my favorite beauty picks by categories
Primers/Setting Sprays
I play safe when it comes to primers so here are my go to primers:
Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primers are the best!!! you can find one regards to your skin’s needs. I personally like prepping moisturizers like Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base – is the best moisturizer and primer, especially for dry and mature skin. I find Vitamin Enriched Smoothing Serum works as good as the original formula (recommended for oily skin) for summer days.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream Anti-Aging Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid is one of the best!! as well as the Charlotte’s Magic Serum with Vitamin C works amazing under all foundation.
I also find the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Serum is a dream base with a grip it provide for foundation and is good for hydration and a nice glow to the skin.
I love setting sprays and the Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Waterproof Setting Spray and Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Makeup Setting Spray has been my go to set my makeup.
Foundation Favorites
I must admit, my foundation chose has been stayed the same for the past year, I haven’t tried any new base that I have fell in love with it. The Dior Forever Stick Foundation is on my wish list which I will purchase this Sephora Sale and will share my thoughts with you all.
Best Skin Tints/Sheer
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Dewy and Oil Free formula been stables in my makeup routine. Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint is the best that looks like skin but better. Reviewed here. It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation + Glow Serum is one that gives skin a nice glow and has enough SPF for every day look. Best Medium Coverage
My medium coverage foundations are the ones gets most love, these are all my stable and must have foundations. Givenchy’s Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Glow Foundation is one of the best formulas I’ve tried!! Reviewed here. It works all year long.
Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is one of my favorite and stable foundations. I like to wear it when I need nice skin with a perfect amount of coverage. Full review here.
Nars Light Reflecting Advanced Skincare Foundation could be a hit or miss but for me, it is the best formula that I can trust blindly. Fully reviewed here.
Bobbie Brown Weightless Skin Oil-Controlling Foundation is something exceptionally good for mature skin with a good lasting power. Reviewed here.
Full/Medium Coverage
These are foundaions I wear only to the events when i need most coverage and performance. I am obsessed with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Filter Foundation. It is a foundation that you can wear during the day and night that has a nice velvety finish and smoothly goes over the skin. You can find the full review here. Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow Foundation is a really good foundation with a soft focus blurring effect. I have a full review post here.
Nars Soft Matte Foundation is lightweight, feels like skin, and has a soft focus blurring effect. It doesn’t require powder to set in place. You can find the entire range review here. Lately, I’ve been loving the YSL All Hours Foundation for the performance and finish. find the review here.
Best Concealers
I am really picky when it comes to concealers and correctors. I usually get to stick with a formula for a long time till i find something that works for my under eye area. Most of the times i use the same concealers in different tones to correct and conceal. If I have to pick a corrector + concealer, it has to be the Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Vanish Corrector in fair.
- the Clé de Peau Beauté The Concealer is the best!! This is one of the best formulas to correct and conceal without setting it with powder and it finishes the under-eye area flawlessly.
- Armani Luminous Silk Face and Under-Eye Concealer is one of the best hydrating and luminous concealers and covers everything while it looks fresh and natural on the skin.
- Fenty We’re Even Hydrating Longwear Waterproof Concealer is one I am hooked on for its performance, coverage and seamless finish.
- Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Buildable Coverage Crease Proof Concealer is the best full-coverage concealer that doesn’t smudge or smear. Fully reviewed here.
- Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Concealer is one I have reached out most and has already been a favorite formula for its finish and lasting power. Full review & swatches here.
- Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Full Coverage Concealer is one of the most used concealer and worn concealer for the years.
Setting Powders
When it comes to powders, I am not a huge fan but i do have some stables that i use time to time depending on how i like to wear my makeup in certain events. Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Setting and Finishing Powder (reviewed here) is an all-time stable that not only sets the foundation in place it offers an airbrush finish to the skin. I am really excited to try the new Prisme Libre Blurring & Color-Correcting Matte Pressed Powder.
Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder is another amazing powder that blurs out fine lines and sets the concealer and foundation in place. Fully reviewed here. The Laura Mercier Ultra-Blur Talc-Free Translucent Loose Setting Powder (reviewed here) is a classic setting powder and the new formula is even better. When it comes to pressed powders, the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush is a classic best-setting compact powder that sets the foundation and gives the airbrush finish without making the under-eye area look dry at all.
Best Bronzer/Contour
For bronzer Armani Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder (in shade 100) is a favorite of mine – reviewed here. Benefit Hola Bronzer is a classic that doesn’t turn orange and performs well at all times and in weather conditions. Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Bronzer (Review + Swatches here) is a classic staple in my makeup looks and probably the most used formula over the years. I find these formulas don’t turn orange and gives me that nice glow.
The Hourglass Ambien Lighting Palette – volume ll is the best all in one face palette you can own.
For contour the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick (in shade Amber Sueded) Reviewed here is one of the best formulas that stays well and carries the best shades that don’t turn orange. The Nars Laguna Bronzing Cream in Casino (Review + Swatches here) has been one I’ve reached out to the most in the past year.
Favorite Blushes & Highlighters
The Nars new Talc-Free Powder Blushes are so dreamy and still one of my favorite formulas as it blurs out everything. I am obsessed with the shade Sex Appeal!!
Armani Luminous Silk Glow Blush and Cheek Tint are just gorgeous. I like to wear the Silk Glow Blush in Ecstasy & Euphoric that are the most beautiful shades and in the Check Tint – Delicate Mauve & Flaming Red is a must-have. My new obsessions are the new YSL Beauty’s Make Me Blush 24H Buildable Powder Blush, I can’t decide on which one I like the most – they are all so beautiful and wearable. Reviewed here.
When it comes to highlighters i like subtle highlighter that are not too frosty, the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand is one of my favorite cream highlighters in Spotlight. Dior Highlighters are my most worn highlighters which I have the older version but they just introduced the new Forever Glow Luminizer Highlighter. And for exceptional glow the Fenty Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil is the best to add that extra glow and drama.
Eyeshadow Palettes
I haven’t played with new eyeshadow palettes recently but the new Afterglow Irresistible Eyeshadow Palette from Nars looks really interesting to me. Most of the times I like to play with neutrals, here are few stables of mine:
- Charlotte Tilbury makes the best eye shadow palettes and the Super Nudes Easy Eyeshadow Palette is a perfect nude palette you can own
- Huda makes the best eyeshadow palettes and the Empowered Eyeshadow Palette one of the most versatile and beautiful nude palette
- Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes are the most beautiful and wearable. The Naked3 Soft Pink Eyeshadow Palette is my all time favorite.
- Armani’s Eye Tint Long-Lasting Liquid Eyeshadow are the best you can get and right now the shade wood is in stock which is one of my favorite shades from the collection.
Mascaras & Liners
The new YSL Lash Clash Mascaras has been the best formulas I’ve tried this year. I love everything about this mascara. It stays so well without smearing or smudging even its not a waterproof mascara. Lancôme always makes the best mascaras and the new Lash Idôle Flutter Extension Lengthening Mascara is really good. The applicator is designed well to lengthen the lashes and the formula doesn’t smudge or smear. The Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara and It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Mascara are the best ones I’ve tried.
For eye liners, I’ve been really liking the 24/7 Inks Easy Ergonomic Liquid Eyeliner Pen in black and brown. And the Creamy Kohl Longwear Eye Pencil from Huda Beauty and Le Stylo Liner from Lancôme are the best formulas. I have a full review post of my favorite liner here.
Brow Essentials
For brows the Benefit Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel is easy to groom the brows and a staple. I find the Diorshow OnSet Brow Gel is one of the best formulas – very easy to use with great lasting power.
I find myself use the It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil regularly which is a perfect pencil especially if you’re a mom and need that quick brow look this is it. Anastasia Ombre Effect Long-Wearing Brow Powder Duo is a stable and classic that I believe everyone should have in their makeup drawer.
Best Lip Products
For solid matte lipsticks, my personal favorite lipsticks are the Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet Matte Lipstick in Beige Nu, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Hydrating Lipstick in Super Model and Pillow Talk, and Armani Lip Power Long Lasting Lipstick in True. For lip liners, I find myself use almost same shade range, but I only like few formulas that includes the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color in shade Completely Sepia, Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat Liner in Pillow Talk and HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencil in Pinky Brown.
For lip balms, YSL makes the most prettiest lipstick formulas and the YSL Loveshine Lip Oil Stick are my favorite. Shades Nude Lavalliere, and Rosewood are the most beautiful shades. I have been obsessed over the Dior Addict Lip Glow Balms over the years and they are the best balm formula.
My Favorite Lip Glosses the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminizer + Plumper is one of the best plumping formulas I’ve tried. Reviewed here I really like the Buxom Full-On Plumping Lip Cream Gloss as well as the Nars Afterglow Lip Shine Gloss are ones that has a beautiful finish and a great range of colors. Review + Swatches here. The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss is stable for me. I love the formula and soft and smooth finish.
