Clarins launched its Spring 2017 make-up collection on February first. This Spring Make-Up collection is all about playing with light and shade to create a flattering and more sculpt look. Most of the items from the collection is limited edition as well as there Clarins introducing few new colors to the line. This collection is simple yet delivers a very elegant look and more dimension to the face. The Spring Make-Up Collection contains:
- Face Contouring Palette (C$49.00)
- 4-Colour All in One Pen (C$44.00)
- 4-Colour Eyshadow Palette (C$45.00) in Smokey
- Joli Rouge Brillant (C$29.00) in Soft Plum
Up first is the Face Contouring Palette (C$49.00) is a limited edition trio contouring palette. This contouring palette is simple and easy to use especially for those who are new to contouring. As well as I found the palette perfect for mom’s on the go. This contouring palette contains:
- Highlighting powder – which is a light weight setting powder with yellow undertone, where it really brightens up the high points of face.
- Shading powder – is a contouring powder with warm undertone. It carries a very nice pigment and buildable.
- Blush powder – is a universal blush with pink under tone, which I found very versatile and wearable. Complements all skin tones.
All three shades are matte finish to really give your face a sculpt look with more dimension. All three shades comes in a large-sized panes where it’s easy to use medium-large face brushes. It comes in a sleek golden mirrored compact which adds a very glamour finish to the look of the palette. I find it’s an easy on the go palette, it covers every thing from setting powder to contouring powder and a perfect blush. The texture is very light yet pigmented. Although I don’t use pressed powders to set my foundation but I did tried out this Highlighting powder to set under the eye area as well as the T-zone area of my face. I was very pleased with the result, it light and doesn’t dry out the skin through out the day.
The palette comes along with a pro brush – the brush is specifically designed for contouring to give a very subtle contouring result. You can only use this brush for contouring purposes. It has a perfect size to carry it on your to go bag without any hustle. The brush it self is very soft and designed in a way that fits perfectly into the hollo of the check bone and gives a very subtle contouring result.
Next is the 4-Colour All in One Pen (C$44.00 each) is a limited edition eye and lip pen. It definitely reminds me of my old school days, which I found it very innovative. This pen carries three color eye liner tips (black, chocolate and blue) and a Nude color lip liner tip. It’s one of great ways to carry your eyeliners with you all the time for touch ups. All liners carries a very soft texture and it glides on beautifully. You can use the Chocolate color to define eyebrows.
Up next is the 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette (C$45.00 each) in Smokey is a beautiful charcoal color eyeshadow palette. It carries perfect shades to create a smoky look for day and night. The Smoky palette is new shade to the line and these eyeshadow palettes comes in two more colors (Rosewood and Brown) which have been reviewed and swatched here. These eyeshadow palettes from Clarins carries a very soft and silky texture with high pigment. You can wear then dry for softer finish and wet for more intense look. All four shades carries a satiny finish. It comes in traditional golden mirrored compact and a red velvet case to protect the compact. It’s a perfect every day eyeshadow palette, easy to carry on while on the go. There are no fallout with these eyeshadow palettes and they blend well.
Last Joli Rouge Brillant (C$29.00) in Soft Plum is a moisturizing lipstick with high shine. Clarins introduced three more shades into the Joli Rouge Brillant line this spring.
- Pinky Beige – is a tender nude color.
- Bright Fuchsia Pink – is a nice pink fuchsia.
- Luminous Plum – which is a soft plum shade with a nice glow.
These lipsticks give lips life, it feels like a balm and color that comes from within. This was my first time trying Clarins lipsticks from Joli Rouge Brillant collection. I personally love the high shine look on lips during spring time, and this lipstick is definitely one of my high pick for a nice glossy lips with a hint of color.
I personally love the easy to use products with not playing too much math. The contouring palette is perfect for those on the go and easy to carry for touch-ups. I have been very pleased with Clarins eyeshadow from a long time, they do carry a very nice and soft texture. The 4-Colour All in One Pen was definitely one of my favorite products from the collection. It’s unique and practical for all those ladies like me who forgets to pick up their eye liners. It’s just one step to carry on your makeup bag where you get all your must have eyeliner, eyebrow pen and lip liner.
