Beauty Products I’m Loving Right Now

Finding good and solid makeup products, especially on aging skin for long-lasting makeup looks gets tricky. There are a few must-have and essential makeup products which I have approved through the testing and experience period that I have gone through with new beauty launches. This post will consist of some of the recent launches and products I got to try for the first time.

New Base Products

Good makeup starts with good skin which is true (I will share a post on my recent skincare finds next), and having said that prepping the skin for the makeup effects on how your makeup is going to look and last for that specific time. The Boddi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Moisturizer & Primer ($93.50) is one of the best to prep the skin regardless of skin type. I recently got my hands on the new Vitamin Enriched Smoothing Serum with Niacinamide ($115) that does everything you need for your skin to prepare for the makeup. It is lightweight and has been working great on hot and humid days plus it doesn’t feel like you have anything on your skin. The skin looks plump and radiant immediately. It has worked so well for me – my skin is dry and aging. It has become a must-have for my evening makeup looks.

In comparison, both are very similar in terms of their offerings except for their texture. The moisturizer has a richer texture that is great for normal to dry skin, especially during the fall/winter season. The serum is very lightweight and perfect for someone with oily skin also works great for those with dry skin during the summer months.

I am a minimalist and I’ve been loving the Umbra 100% Mineral Cream SPF 30/PA+++ Tinted Face Sunscreen ($49) from Drunk Elephant for my everyday looks. It is an all-in-one base product that does everything for my complexion in one application. It comes in 3 shades and I’ve been wearing it in Tinte & Cocoa to add warmth to my skin. Cocoa works great if you use the under-painting makeup application technique. It gives a smooth finish to the skin with a nice glow and almost no texture.

Eye Essentials

I was overjoyed when I found the new The Original Naked Palette ($59) from Urban Decay. I’ve so many memories of this palette and kept my older palette to admire its beauty. When I purchased this palette I was not a beauty blogger and for me to buy a palette, meant to put all my heart into it – and this was one of those beauty products. I still find this palette to be the most beautiful, practical and well-performed to date. I would highly recommend getting yours before it’s gone. As I’ve never reviewed this, here is a closer look at the swatches:

When it comes to makeup mascara is one beauty product that is essential to me, and one I run out of quite often. Lancome just introduced a new mascara to their HYPNÔSE DRAMA line – Hypose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara. Lancome makes the best mascaras and this one is quite iconic and very interesting in its application. It is designed with an oversized S-shaped brush applicator that coats lashes from root to tip. It delivers extreme volume with long-lasting wear. I love bulky and thick lashes but this one separates lashes and coats lashes evenly so it doesn’t look bulky at all.

Lancome’s Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner is something I got to try for the first time. It is a pencil liner with an easy twist-tip applicator. This is a liner that stays in place with no smudging or streak at all. The formula is creamy and glides easily over the eyelid. I have a list of a few eyeliners I like (reviewed here) and I must say this is hitting the first spot on my favourites list.

In the meantime It Cosmetics introduced their Superhero Volumizing Waterproof Mascara ($38). I’ve been obsessed with their original formula and it’s been on my stables list. Although I don’t quite like or use waterproof formulas but looks and feels so good on my lashes, especially on hot humid days.

Bronze/Blush

I love a good all-over bronzing powder, especially from a favourite brand. New from Armani Beauty is the Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder ($78.50). It is a gorgeous pressed formula with medium coverage that adds a nice veil of warmth to the skin without building any texture to the skin. The formula feels feather-light yet creamy on the skin with good lasting power. It comes in four shades with a large mirror.

I’ve been reaching out to It Cosmetics Glow with Confidence Sun Cream Blush as the weather has changed. It is an all-in-one blush + glow face cream that is packed with skincare benefits and brings warmth to the skin with just one application. They kindly send it out in Sunlit which is a nice warm pink shade that I like to wear along with the Heavenly Lux Cream Blush Brush #3 which is designed for cream blush application. I adore It Cosmetics brushes, they’re a game changer for makeup application. The new Heavenly Lux Cream Blush Brush #3 is probably one of the best brushes to apply your cream blushes. It smoothly applies the product and gives that defused finish.
