Armani | Luminous Silk Foundation Review

Armani just reformulated their Luminous Silk Foundation ($85). I have used and worn the original formula for many years. The original formula been on of my go to for natural looking makeup look that I reached out the most. Armani added new shades to the Luminous Silk range. For me, shade is 3 and 3.5 works which are very close match to my skin. The new formula contains niacinamide which helps skin look brighter over time. It carries the same packaging and look except this time it comes in clear glass jar not matte finish. I do find both formulas are very close in terms of shades, coverage and how it performs on skin. The formula feels a little lighter and has a more sheer texture.

In terms of coverage, it carries the same coverage with medium and natural finish. I find the foundation to be one kind of formula that wears naturally on the skin but the skin looks better. In another words, this foundation is designed for someone who almost have a perfect skin. If you happen to have blemishes, scars or spots you need to cover and perfect them before application with a concealer or corrector. Yet if you have dry skin you need to prep the skin well before application. I personally don’t use any other powder to set my foundation except my bronzer or blushes.

Products used to achieve this look:

  • Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 3
  • Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Concealer in 2
  • Armani Eye Tint Long-Lasting Liquid Eyeshadow in Wood
  • Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder all over face
  • Huda Beauty Creamy Kohl Longwear Eye Pencil in Black
  • Lancôme Lash Idôle Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara
  • Armani Lip Power Long Lasting Lipstick in True

Overall, love the formula. There isn’t much difference between the formulas so you don’t need to overstock. It does perform very well on normal to oily skin but if you prep your dry skin well – it performs as good.
