Urban Decay | Naked Honey Palette

There are quite some new launches from the Urban Decay cosmetics for the season. I have been a long time lover for their complexion line as well as their eyeshadow palettes. There quite some products from the brand that I use on daily basis as well as those nights that I want to get glammed fully.

The latest from Urban Decay’s naked line is the Naked Honey Palette (C$68.00 for 12 shadows + a dual ended brush). I have been a long time lover for all Naked palettes (and I almost own them all), especially the first Naked palette which discontinued but I find this one is a pretty close palette that can resemble the original palette. This palette is all around social media and I was a little worried this might be too warm for my skin tone, particularly the two golden shades (Golden and Honey). But over all this palette carries a good mix of neutral warm shades that can be worn alone and layers beautifully.

  • Flyby is a nice satin ivory
  • Sweet is a pinky mauve matte which really warms up the crease and a good transition color
  • Swarm is a medium cool brown matte
  • Amber is a warm copper with shimmers
  • Keeper is a warm soft brown in matte
  • Golden is a beautiful warm gold shimmer
  • Honey is a pure gold metallic
  • Queen is a sparkling warm bronzy brown (favorite shade)
  • Hive is a deep cool matte brown
  • Drip is a deep warm matte brown
  • HBIC is a beautiful metallic bronzy shimmer
  • Sting is warm deep matte plum brown

Naked Honey comes in a nice mirrored sleek-looking compact, and for me it’s really hard to pick one favorite Naked palette. I feel I need them all but as a warm neutral eyeshadow lover I feel this is a complete palette to takes you from day to-night easily. The shades ranges from high shimmers and glitters to nice matte colors. The texture of the shadows are quite nice and feels buttery (especially the shimmery ones) which makes the application supper easy – you can use your finger tips to apply the shimmery ones that way it will offer more pigment and sets beautifully and there are not much fall outs. I feel like every time they even come with a better formula. The pigment and quality of these shadows are really nice, they blend nicely and layers beautifully. Almost all the shades are highly pigmented with buttery texture.

Quick look at Naked Palettes:

I have been a huge lover for the 12-pan Naked Palettes and really its hard to pick favorite one. Keeping in mind that original Naked Palette is no longer available ( which carries a good mix of warm and cool tones at the same time) I find this is one of the most beautiful warm neutral palette. Other than that they’re all different, each have a twist in its color range and texture making it a very personal choice. I find this palette to be versatile and there is a good and very pretty mix of shimmer and mattes. It’s a hit for me and this is one of the palettes that will travel with me almost all the time. You can create many different looks from soft day looks to very nice shimmery and matte smoky eyes. I feel like I’m missing a nice black matte shade in this one which would make this palette complete for me.

The dual brush is designed very nicely I love a nice fluffy brush and a medium detailing brush which can be used under the eye area. Their brush quality of the brushes are quite nice and I always my palettes to have its own brush, it just makes the application so much easy when traveling.

Overall I give this palette a thumbs up! It’s definitely some thing new in your palette collection especially the bright and gold shades are quite beautiful and lovely. I love that Naked Palettes are all very unique in its own way and have enough color to take a look from day to-night, and good enough for any occasion. But I feel if you have an olive tone skin this might not work for you, its something you need to test the shades. I find the palette is divided into matte and shimmers, there is only one satin finish shadow (Flyby) which is a detailing shadow. I personally wear matte finish most of the times when its day and night. And use shimmers time to time but these shimmery shadows are really beautiful.
At the end its a perfect Gold Neutral Smoky palette! You can now find it in store and online at Sephora and Urban Decay Cosmetics.
