CLINIQUE | BIY™ Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops

Clinique is introducing the new BIY™ Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops (C$44.00 each) this season. These are highly concentrated pigmented foundation drops that you can customize your own foundation by mixing it to your moisturizer, it instantly transforms into a BB cream, CC cream or full coverage foundation. The more drops you add, the more coverage you get, as well as you can choose your custom fit foundation finish by choosing your moisturizer texture (SPF). The BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops comes in 12 shades to enhance all skin tones. You can definitely customize your shade by mixing two shades together for a perfect match. I received three shades to play with 105, 1010 and 125 and I have been wearing 105 and 110 mixed together (one drop each) to get a perfect match to my skin. All shades carries a very neutral under tone.

How to use it:

  1. Choose your moisturizer.
  2. Choose your BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops shade, shake and add desired drops to the moisturizer.
  3.  Mix it with your daily routine moisturizer and apply it as your foundation.

I think it’s perfect for those whose on the go. I like the idea and the fact that it takes less time to do your makeup. It’s a 2 in 1 step to your daily makeup routine. I personally like to apply my foundation separately but this innovation is definitely more practical for the ladies on the go. I’ve been playing with this foundation for a few weeks now, testing it over different bases and trying to see how it wears compared to other foundations and BB creams I’ve ever tried. The BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops carries a sheer to medium coverage and I would describe it as a BB cream or sheer coverage foundation. Although I have quite few small pores around my nose but it does emphasize the pores. There are few things that you want to keep in mind when trying on this foundation – you need to wear your eye cream before applying your moisturizer or BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops and make sure you apply a nice layer of foundation primer to help you cover those pores.

I was quite amazed with the lasting power, it lasted all day for me without feeling any thing on skin. It doesn’t slid or melt and looks like skin. I love it for every day wear for a natural looking finish but I wouldn’t recommend for those who like more coverage or have larger pores to begin with. If you’re some one, likes no makeup look – this is definitely something you want to give it a try.

Bottom line the new BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops is perfect for ladies on the go who loves the natural and no makeup look. I loved it for every day look wear and for it’s easy application. It gives you a nice even out skin, while it keeps the skin well hydrated throughout the day without feeling any thing on skin or in other words it looks like your own skin. I also loved that you can get to choose a moisturizer with SPF and there is no need for a sun screen to wear during those spring and summer days. You can find the BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops right now at all Clinique counters as well as

IMG_1026This February Clinique have launched Pep-Start Eye Cream ($31, Sephora Exclusive). This is a lightweight eye cream which brightens, awakens, and refreshes tried looking eyes that features a blend of peptides. Pep-Start provides an instant hydration to the skin under eye area and the oil-free formula doesn’t interfere with eye make-up or concealer which what we all look for especially for under the eyes. The peptides also helps support natural collagen reserves which can be threatened by fatigue, lack of sleep or stress that we all face during our busy lifestyle. The texture is very soft and smooth and meanwhile very light, so it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy at all. It sinks into the skin immediately, leaving the under eye skin looking fresh and hydrated.

The result is almost instant, I did notice a little bit of brightening effect but I will need to test it more to see if it really does brighten the skin over the long-term. But just with a week of use I can see the texture has improved and it does lift and firm the eye area and adds the perfect amount of moisture. I give it a thumbs up to this Pep-Start Eye Cream. The package is designed very uniquely, as described Snap. Pop. Swipe. The cool touch from the tip of the tube helps de-puff the under eye area and leaving the skin looking fresh and smooth. Very easy to carry on while on the go. This is ideal for all skin types.

Just snap to open the Pep-Start Eye Cream dispense a pea-size amount of cream to the tip of applicator, and pop the applicator to the close position and swipe the product around the eye area. I would suggest to use your finger tip using tapping motion to really get the product into the skin.

This Pep-Start Eye Cream is available exclusively at Sephora stores and online at Sephora and Clinique
