Benefit Cosmetics | Blush Bar Palette & Gold Rush Blush

Benefit Cosmetics just introduced two new additions to their Blush line, the new Gold Rush Blush and Blush Bar Cheek Palette (limited edition and exclusive for Sephora). I’m a lover for Benefit cosmetic’s makeup line especially the Hoola bronzer is one of my all time favorite bronzer. I have had some crushes on their Blushes too, GALifornia blush is one of them. I love how they combine blush with gold which makes you glow instantly after application. I wish they could have done something better with their blush applicators, I’m not a big fun of the kabuki applicator at all especially not for blushes. I personally love to apply my blushes with a medium soft and fluffy cheek brush, although I found the flat brush that comes in with Hoola bronzer works great on sculpting cheek bones.

The Gold Rush Blush (C$38 for 5g) is a nice and beautiful warm golden nectar blush that not only adds a nice warm color to the cheeks it also gives cheeks a golden glowing effect. The formula works great on skin, the texture is buildable according to your desire and blends beautifully on the skin. It does carry a nice soft scent of citrus, vanilla and sandalwood upon application which lefts ups the mood. I do found that gold rush is only on top layer once you have used the top layer the gold rush is gone- the formula does carry a slightly golden fine shimmers but I wish the formula it self had more of the gold. You have control over the use, I would suggest to start digging from the middle with small circular motion to really keep that gold rush last for a longer time. The formula it self is infused with golden shimmers but you don’t get that nice golden glowing effect after the first couple of use. I Personally love nectar shade especially when I go bold with my lip color, I keep cheeks nude and glowing.

On other note Benefit Cosmetics introduced the Blush Bar Cheek Palette (C$78 valued $190) which is a limited edition cheek palette that offers five full size blushes including their award winging Hoola bronzer which is one of my all time favorite bronzer (actually I was running out of it). The palette carries a different range of shades, colors and texture that can take you from soft to bold look. The formula of all blushers are quite nice and it blends beautiful with each other when layering. They literally give a nice 3D effect to the cheeks. The  Blush Bar Cheek Palette contains:

  • GALifornia Blush is a nice golden coral pink shade that gives cheeks a nice warn pink color along with a nice golden glow, perfect for summer days
  • Gold Rush Blush is a warn golden nectar shade that gives cheeks a nice and more subtle nude look with a nice golden glow
  • Dandelion Brightening Baby soft pink Blush that carries a nice radiance to it, its not totally matte finish
  • Hoola Bronzer is one of my favorite bronzer, it is matte and gives that perfect amount of shade that you need to sculpt and shape the face with it
  • Rockateur Blush is a rose gold shade that give cheeks that instant flush with a nice shimmers to get you glowing

I personally love Blush palettes, especially the ones that carries a bronzer. It makes my life much easy when traveling and most of the times I use the palette for eyes and face at the same time. I find the Blush Bar Cheek Palette is a nice and complete palette that carries all beautiful and every day shades that takes from day to night look very easily, along with different texture. I find it makes a perfect palette for makeup artist as well as the some who love to play with makeup.

Bottom line, I personally loved both new additions from the brand. The new addition of the Gold Rush blush to their blush collection is amazing, its a very versatile and universal shade that complements all skin tones. And this spring is all about glowing complexion which I find this to be right on target. The formula for the blushes are amazing and the Blush Bar Cheek palette have been priced right to give you a good value product for the price and I loved how they have induced the Hoola bronzer which makes it perfect face palette. The palette carries a great range of shades with different textures which makes it versatile. You can now find the Gold Rush blush and the Blush Bar Cheek palette available in store and online at Sephora and Benefit

Dior | Cool Wave Summer 2018

Here is a look at the Summer collection 2018 Cool Wave from Dior. The collection carries some beautiful, bright and fresh colors this year. The whole collection looks amazing, and the shades from the collection was inspired from the contrast between aquatic blues and euphoric shades. The collection introduces 5 Couleurs Cool Wave palette in Cool Down  and Heat Up, Diorshow Cooling Sticks in Bronze Wave, Gold Splash and Fresh Pink, Dior Addict Lip Tattoo in Litchi, Orange, Watermelon and Cranberry as well as Dior Addict Lipstick in White Splash and Nude Chill, Lip Maximizer in Pool Blue and Dior Vernis in Splash, Wizz and Blop. I received a couple of press samples from the brand for reviewing purposes and I found the whole collection is amazing.

Up first is a look at the  5 Couleurs Cool Wave palette (C$73.00) in Cool Down  and Heat Up is a combination of 5 beautiful and very well-coordinated eyeshadow palettes in a pattern inspired by the ripple of a drop hitting the surface of water. Both palettes carries two very different shades and tones. These 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes have been formulated with the new Dior ultra fine, water affect texture that brings out the eyes with intense colour.  The texture of the shadows are amazingly soft and smooth and blends beautifully together.

Splashed with Cool Down palette is a combination of blues with turquoise, midnight blue, pastel blue and denim tones that easily blends in together and offers a surprisingly natural contrast with the golden glow of summer skin. There are many reasons to wear blue this year and this palette carries a great range of shades that are wearable during the day and night.

On the other hand there is Heat Up palette with warm under tones that carries luminous brown, coral and nude shades with pop of colour. This palette is ideal for all skin tones and texture and can be worn all year-long.

Up next is the Diorshow Cooling Stick that comes in three shades. The pencil glides on eyes beautifully and leaves that fresh and solid colour with a wet effect finish that is so trending this season. It creates and 3D dimension to the eyes and catches the sunlight any time of the day. The formula is feather light and stick to the skin so it doesn’t move for a long-lasting summer look.

Next to the lips – there are quite few formulas that Dior is introducing this season. Dior Addict Lipsticks (C$44.00 each) are one of them, they are introducing two shades in this line (White Splash and Nude Chill). These are super hydrating lip formula that glides on to the lips leaving it soft and smooth all day long. I received this in Nude Chill which is a beautiful bronze nude shade that enhances all skin tones. You can wear it during the day or night, it carries some nice fine golden shimmers that adds luminosity to the lips.

Next is the Dior Addict Lip Tattoo (C$37.00 each) are highly pigmented tinted lip inks with no transfer finish and an extreme 10 hour hold. I have been a true lover for this formula from last year when Dior introduced these lip tattoo formula reviewed here. And this year Dior introduces these lip ink tattoo in vibrant and scented shades. I received this in Watermelon which is a bright and mouth-watering pink. It really gives lips that fresh look while the ultra pigmented formula with its water finish and nude feel fuses with the skin of the lips in a matter of seconds and transforms your lips tinted.

Last for the lips Dior introduces the new Lip Maximizer in pool Blue (C$42.00 each) with mint extract that instantly give lips freshness and irresistibly plumps the lips. It literally creates an incomparably shiny lips with icy blue accents. You can wear it alone or on top of any lipstick to create that juicy lip look this summer season.

Swatches of all three lip formula:

Can never forget about nails and this time Dior brings Dior Vernis (C$34.00 each) in some bright and beautiful shades to play with and how your creativity. You can see the clash of colors in nails too this year with cool and warm shades. I received a press sample in POW which is a light coral shade that enhance all skin tones. The formula is amazing and carries a very fine shimmer.

I’m loving the Summer 2018 Cool Wave collection, the whole collection looks amazing and beautiful. Its simple yet very glamorous, the shades are wearable and there is something for every one. Dior is one of the brands that always brings newness and really know how to play with colors each season. I always look forward for the future launches from Dior. This year I personally love the color combinations for eyes, lips and nails. I always like to wear warm shades on my eyes but after seeing and testing the Cool Down palette I’m looking forward to go out of my comfort zone and wear some nice blue shades on my eyelids this summer, I will definitely share the looks with you all on my Instastories. For the lips both Dior Addict Lipstick and Tattoo are amazing formulas and especially if you want that juicy lip look layering the Lip Maximizer over Dior Addict Tattoo will do the job. Overall a huge thumbs up for the collection and its now available at all department stores at Dior counters.
