Summer Skin Care Routine

This year Spring/Summer started late for us, usually the transition to my skincare routine starts late spring but this spring I had to hold tied to my winter skin care duo to cold and dry weather. While I was stretching my winter skin care products, sudden hot and humid months means you need to maintain a good skincare routine. I do keep focused on what I use and plan ahead of time on what to use next. My summer skincare routine stays the same in terms of what order I use them (cleanser, toner, serum, cream, eye cream, sun screen and face mist) but in much lighter version.

Cleanser & Toner

Hydrate

  • Vichy Mineral 89 Eye is a new product, I was supper happy to try out this for the under eye area. I have been really impressed with my Mineral 89 serum. The texture again is super light while it really hydrates the under eye area.
  • Estee Lauder Nutritious Super Pomegranate Radiant Energy Eye Jelly is yet another eye creams that I have been using and loving for the summer time right now. The texture is jelly like and seals the moisture for a longer period of time while it doesn’t feel like any thing on skin.
  • Estee Lauder Nutritious Super Pomegranate Radiant the texture of this moisturizer is light but very rich and creamy. It have been super good to my skin during this transition time from spring to summer where I needed richness from my skincare.
  • Dior Hydra Life Cooling Hydration Sorbet Eye Gel is one of my all time favorite light weight eye creams. The cooling tip is always very helpful for puffy looking eyes.
  • Decorte Moisture Liposome Serum is one of my favorite light weight serum, it feels like a jelly and gets into the skin immediately.
  • Decorte Moisture Liposome Face Cream I love to stay within the line with it comes to skin care routine and Liposome line is one of the most amazing combos. I will be sticking to this combo for summer months for its light weight texture.
  • It Cosmetics Confidence in a Gel Lotion this is one of the most amazing moisturizers, its light weight but loaded with hydration. This I have been using lately under my foundation, most of the times the air from air conditioning makes skin dry and dull. This is one of the products I have been reaching out to it any time of the day I needed hydration.
  • Bio Oil Dry Skin Gel  I have been a long time lover for Bio Oil products especially during my pregnancy period. I was really impressed with this new addition for dry skin. This product is formulated with 3% water, allowing the active ingredients to dominate the formula. This have been a saviour for my dry skin during the dry and cold transition time. This is one of the products I have been using it all over my body.
  • Laneige Water Bank Dual Layer Face Oil you all know I can’t live without facial oils and this is one of my favorite face oils. Its super light and super hydrating. It literally makes my skin soft and plump.
  • Laura Mercier Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil is another facial oil that I have been obsessed over lately.

Giorgio Armani | Power Fabric Foundation

When it comes to foundation – Armani Beauty’s foundations are always on top of the list. Their Luminous Silk foundation is still on my radar yet I was supper excited to try out their Power Fabric Foundation (C$74.00 for 30 mL/1.0 fl oz). This foundation carries a matte texture and comes in 20 shades that contains SPF 25. Having a dry skin I take a step back when it comes to matte formulas, I had high hopes from Armani Beauty and having said that I immediately put out the foundation to the test. I have been testing the formula for the past two weeks and I must admit that it have hit in my top 3 foundation lists.

On face Armani’s Power Fabric Foundation #5, Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer to contour, Charlette Tilbury’s Latex Love Gloss in Cannes Tropez

I received 3 shades (#3,#5 & #6.5) as a sample from the brand which I was supper happy that two of the shades worked on my skin. #5 was a perfect match to my skin while #3 is a little light but I was able to still work with some bronzers to make it work on my skin, while #6.5 was a little too dark to my skin tone. The texture of the foundation is creamy yet it feels like velvet on skin, I can apply it smoothly with finger as well as beauty blender worked very well with the foundation. I personally loved it with It Cosmetics Heavenly Lux Flat foundation brush which give me a full coverage finish yet streak-free. Coverage is full without looking flat or powdery, but I found if you have a dry skin you may need to prep the skin very well before application with a hydrating primer to get that seamless look. I have been prepping my skin with the Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Skin Booster which gives me super flawless finish. It pretty much covers every thing from redness to all dark spots and freckles. Plus I pretty much didn’t need to use any kind of concealers, I did a little of color correcting under the eye area and the foundation covers up every thing you need to cover. For me two pumps were good enough to cover my entire face – a little goes a long way with this foundation. I personally didn’t need to set the foundation with a setting powder, it sets pretty well with a great lasting power and minimal touch-ups. I loved the coverage and texture that it gives skin without looking cakey.

Before and after swatches with the shade #5.

I also found the shades are quite close in shade but different in under tone, I can wear #4 and #5 where both are the same shade with different under tone. #5 is more with pink under tone. I loved the packaging, it carries the same iconic foundation packaging but with frosted glass and with a pump dispenser. It doesn’t oxidize, you may see the shade look a little brighter than what you see because of the SPF but it will turn out fine once you apply. I was respectively impressed with their shade range but you may want to try out the shades in person before you purchase. I also was able to kind of play around with the shades and work the #3 and #6.5 mix together to match it with my skin.

Pure Love! I have been super impressed with the performance and quality of the new Power Fabric Foundation, I feel its going to one of hits for me this summer season since the weather is going to get hot and humid. It’s a perfect foundation to reach for parties and occasions especially for its finish and lasting power. It stays input without much-needed to touch up, I personally barely got touch up while wearing this foundation which a huge thumbs up for me. You can find the new Power Fabric Foundation available at all Giorgio Armani’s counters at all department store as well as Sephora.

Aerin | Aegea Blossom Eau de Parfum Spray

Aerin have just introduced a new vibrant floral fragrance that takes your senses into the next level Aegea Blossom Eau De Parfum (C$142.00 for 1.7 oz/ C$245.00 for 3.4 oz made in USA). This is one of the most fresh and clean fragrances that I have tried by far. You guys all know I’m a floral fragrance addict and I feel like I’ve lived in floral scent all my life. And of course as usual my list is more extensive. I can not stick to one perfume just like I cannot have just one foundation or nude lipstick. I have some favorite notes that always keeps me hooked to the fragrances time to time.

This new addition from Aerin is one of the most luminous floral scents that is vibrant. Its inspired by blue seas, cool breezes and pure light on the open water.

Key Notes:

  • Sicilian Bergamot
  • Neroli Petals
  • Musk

A vibrant floral fragrance that takes your senses on a voyage. Notes of Sicilian paired with crisp mandarin makes this fragrance brings more sophistication into it. I have been wearing this non-stop for the past four weeks now. The packaging carries the same iconic fragrance look with the a pale blue cap to bring freshness to the finish of the bottle. It’s absolutely a beautiful and amazing scent for the spring/summer 2019. You can layer it with any other fragrance easily, especially with the fragrance with Amber and Mandarin notes it goes quite well. I have had been wearing the Hibiscus Palm (reviewed here) last year and it’s still one of my favorite scents. This is one of the scents that I can wear it without giving it a second thought.

You can now find the new Aegea Blossom Eau de Parfum in store and online at Nordstrom, Sephora and Saks Fifth Avenue.
