Rodial | Airbrushed Foundation and Brush

Rodial Cosmetics introduced the new Airbrushed Foundation (C$ 50.00) with the Airbrushed foundation Brush (C$58.00). I have had tested some of Rodial cosmetics beauty products before and I was really impressed with the selection of products and it’s performance. The foundation is really thick and heavy, with a past like texture. It is a highly pigmented and carries a velvety Finnish. There are four shades in total which I felt was quite limited and comes in a thick cream paste form. I was sent out the Airbrushed 2 for editorial purposes from the brand which was little dark for my skin tone, I think No.1 is a good match to my skin tone. The texture is quite thick and it’s one of the foundations where a little goes a long way. You just need a pea size to cover the whole face. You need to work it out slowly by blending it into the skin. It require a little more time for application but gives a flawless finish to the skin. It offers high coverage with a velvety finish that I find it easy to get an even skin tone with one application.
It smoothes out the skin without emphasize the pores or fine lines. As with full coverage foundations I believe you need to prep the skin before application. I have tried it with some of my favorite boosters like Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster and primers like YSL Touche Eclat Blure Primer works wonders with this foundation. In terms of wear and lasting power, it lasted all day without separating or sliding. I didn’t set it with powder since I loved the dewy finish, it literally sticks into the skin and lasts all day.

Additionally there is a new brush Airbrushed foundation Brush especially designed for this foundation. It’s a large foundation brush with firm domed shape and very thick and heavy bristles plus incredibly soft and dense. I tried the foundation with the Airbrush foundation brush which I felt was designed particularly for this foundation with a thicker bristles for a flawless finish as well as with a damp beautyblender. I was pleased both ways, the application does takes some time to get used to it, the foundation take more blending than other foundations. I found the brush really helps with blending and buffs off the foundation just in case you have applied more, especially if you work it in circular motion. The tapered tip also allows to reach to difficult areas like around the nose or under eye area.

Overall I was very pleased with the Airbrushed foundation and Brush, I find this is a perfect summer to fall transition foundation. I was happy with this foundation in all terms – finish, coverage and lasting power, the only thing I felt was missing, the color selection is quite limited. I wish there were greater range of colors and shades to complement all skin tones. Although the shade No.2 was a bit darker for me but it worked great on my skin. I was also very please with the foundation brush, it works amazing with the foundation as well as the brush works well with the concealer.

Many thank to the Rodial cosmetics for sending over the press samples for editorial purposes.
