New Spring Beauty Finds

It’s that time of the year when new and fresh beauty launches happening & I am already testing and loving some new formulas. I get most excited when I find a new complexion launch, especially from my favourite beauty brands. At the same time, Sephora’s Beauty Insider Sale Event is around the corner and you may want to have a look before the purchase.

Today I am excited to share spring beauty launches that I think are worth the splurge.

Primer, Foundation & Concealer

I get super excited when I find complexion products, that is one of the beauty items that I pay attention to the most. I am glad I got my hands on some of the most amazing launches for the complexion for the spring season reviewed here. Yet there are quite some new formulas that I wanted to share with you here.

Make up For Ever just launched their new HD Skin Undetectable Longwear Foundation ($55) which is a natural finish liquid foundation that blurs out imperfections and looks like skin with 24-hour wear. It has medium coverage and makes skin look perfect with its micro skin system technology. I’ve been a huge lover of their foundations, especially the HD line. Their colour range is just incredible. I find the foundation is identical to Nars Light Reflecting Foundation (reviewed here) with the same skin-loving ingredients, lasting powder except for the finish. The Nars Light Reflecting Foundation has a more radiant finish than HD Skin Undetectable Foundation.

The shade range is quite impressive – for me, both shades 1Y 16 Warm Beige & 1Y 18 Warm Chashew matched well but I picked shade Warm Chashew since the undertone really goes well with my skin tone as well as I do get a little tan for next couple of months.

Just couldn’t get better when I found that Bobbi Brown just introduced their Skin Concealer + Corrector ($39). I’ve been a huge lover of their correcting line for under the eye area. These come in stick form which makes them super easy to apply & blend. It has medium coverage but is buildable and melts into the skin after its application. The Skin Corrector comes in a great range of shades to spot treat or neutralize the undereye are or any other discoloration on the face. While the Skin Concealer Stick has the same texture but comes in a range of shades to brighten the complexion without creasing or looking cakey. The formula is meant to stay up to 12 hours of crease-proof wear, which I’ve been loving the most of how well it stays up on my skin, especially under the eye area. It applies nicely on the skin with fingertips.

BareMinerals recently launched their 16-hour Skin Perfecting Powder Foundation ($46) in 35 shades. It’s a powder foundation that is full coverage with nourishing skincare products that don’t emphasize fine lines or wrinkles and it’s lightweight. When it comes to powder BareMinerals is one of the brands I trust to wear without making my skin look cakey or dry. This new formula is transfer-resistant and sweat proof which makes it a perfect compact on your on-the-go bag for this spring-summer season. It does come with a sponge applicator that is located at the bottom of the package for easy application. You can wear this foundation wet (full coverage look) or dry (for a natural look) with different application methods depending on your preferred wear and if you get to wet your sponge with a setting spray, it really applies nicely with good lasting power.

I’ve been playing around with the Bobbie Brown new Vitamin Enriched Eye Base ($72) that works incredibly under the eye area to smooth out the lines and creates a nice canvas for your concealer. I’ve been keeping reaching for its nourishing treatment and smooth finish for my makeup looks. If you have dry skin or you find the concealer doesn’t sit nicely on top of the skin this is one of the best eye creams I’ve tried as a primer for a flawless finish.

When it comes to complexion powders and cheek formulas I prefer complete face palettes and currently, I am obsessed with the Smashbox Cali Contour Face Palette ($52). It’s a complete face palette with six shades to set the entire face. The formula is quite amazing, you can use it to create the entire look from eyes, colour on cheeks, contour/highlight and setting powder with this palette. The pigment in this palette is on point with an airbrush finish.

Guerlain powder bronzers are dreamy and quite addictive. Guerlain just introduced their Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Bronzers ($66) in 6 different shades. These are the combination of well put together of blush, highlighter and bronzer tones to enhance different skin tones. As contouring is fading away, I think these bronzers are one of the best ways to add warmth and glow to the complexion. I picked #2 which has a nice warm undertone with a pinky colour that I love to wear during the spring/summertime.

I was on the hunt in the market for a nice coral pink for summertime and Rare Beauty ($26) products were on my radar for a long time but finally, I decided to get my hands on her new cream blushes. I was looking for a nice dewy pinky blush and I think the shade Happy was what I was looking for. The texture is really creamy with a good pigment payoff that I was really impressed with. Love it for its easy application and blendability.

Items beauty ($20) by Addison Rea was a new discovery, but the formula was absolutely looked fabulous when I was browsing in Sephora. The shade Oopsies caught my eyes and it’s a nice sweet pink. The formula is buildable and the powder melts into the skin finishing the complexion radiant and dewy.

Eye Essentials

As a neutral eye makeup lover, the GXVE beauty’s Eye See in Color Clean Multidimensional Eyeshadow Palette is what I’ve been enjoying wearing. The colour selection of the palettes is well put together and the formula feels rich and buttery with a good pigment payoff. There are different brown tones that I like to play around and this is one of the combinations that go quite well with my complexion. Very easy to wear and you can create many neutral looks for day and night makeup looks.

Something new I tried for eyes this year was the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Sticks ($40). I’ve tried some of their shimmery formulas before but never gone over their matte finish formulas. I received them in 3 shades that include:

  • Shore is a soft cool-toned beige in matte finish
  • Cashew is a warm cream brown tone in matte finish
  • Golden Pink is a soft pinky peach shade in a shimmery finish

I find the formula is very blendable and makes very nice easy wear look as well a good base for your eyeshadows with the best-lasting power. Both Shore and Cashew are very light for my skin tone to wear alone but I found they really go well with the deeper shades I wear. While Golden Pink is a nice accent shade to bring more attention to the eyes.

Lip Formulas

I am by heart a nude lip lover + I love simple lip tints to wear during the day look, yet when it comes to actual lipstick formulas I like formulas that are hydrating and long-lasting. A few formulas that I’ve been loving are quite amazing. The new Smashbox Always On Cream to Matte Lipsticks ($32) is absolutely phenomenal. They’re non-drying and transfer-resistant which means I can actually wear my lipstick during the mask mandates. The formula is lightweight and wears comfortable on the lips. The lipstick in Not Today combined with matching Be Legendary Line & Prime Pencil ($25) in Medium Brown is my perfect nude combo at the moment.

Lancome added four new shades to the L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick ($45) line. Lancome’s Lipsticks have always been one of my all-time favourite formulas and now the L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick is probably one of the best matte formulas. The new shades are vibrant and come with long-lasting wear. They’re full coverage and are infused with hyaluronic acid that doesn’t dry out lips while on wear.

If you’re looking for a more hydrating formula then Fenty just launched its Icon The Fill Semi-Matte lipsticks that are creamy with a semi-matte finish but carry a nice glow. The formula is quite pigmented with an amazing shade range that enhances all skin tones.

Here are the shades I am currently loving to wear.

I am in love with these latest spring launches, I tried to link all of the products at Sephora to make it easy for you to get your items during the event sale. I hope you enjoyed this post.
