Nars launched a new line of matte lipstick collection Powermatte Long-Lipstick Lipstick that is transfer resistant that glides on effortlessly with a pigmented colour payoff that lasts up to ten hours. The collection carries12 beautiful shades that come in a great range of colours from soft mauve and peachy nudes to bold berry reds. I always get really excited to find newness from Nars as they nail every time bringing the best launch of the season. The new matte lipsticks are quite comfortable to wear which makes me more excited to wear them during the fall season on my lips which tend to get really dry.
The Powermatte lipsticks carry medium but are buildable to full coverage with different application methods but the formula has that high-intensity colour payoff. These feel very comfortable on the lipsticks and almost feel like cream lipstick but with a matte finish. Lips feel smooth and hydrated with these, I also find the bleeding with these lipsticks is close to nothing.
I was invited to their launch event here in Toronto where they gifted me 3 shades from the collection which happen to be my favourite shades from the collection as well as I tried one of the bold shades in the event that will share below. Here is a closer look at the swatches and packaging.
This is a sweet pink beige shade that I like to wear almost all the time. It makes a perfect everyday nude that you can easily wear it during the day and night.
This is a perfect peachy coral that mimics a nice fresh nude. The shade is a perfect everyday transitional shade for the fall season.
This is probably one of my favourite shades from the collection. This is a gorgeous deep plum shade that is perfect for the fall season.
I also tried the shade in Highway to Hell at the event which looks quite an interesting shade to me. It’s a rich berry shade which I think is a classic deep red to wear.
I find the lasting power is quite impressive but reapplication is required after eating, as it fades through the side edge of the lips where the utensils and glass touch the most.
These lipsticks come in a sleek looking that carries a velvety finish feel into it while it presents the shade of lipstick that is placed inside which is quite fun. I do find that the lipstick carries less quality than any other regular lipstick comparing 0.05 oz. to 0.12 oz. which is almost half the amount you get from this lipstick. I am not a matte lipstick girl (only once in a while) but this collection doesn’t feel matte on lips as it keeps the lips nourished through its wear.
You can find the collection in-store and online at Nars.ca as well as Sephora.ca (not all shades are available at Sephora). I have linked some of my all-time favourite products from the brand below for you and you can find the review for all of them here.
