Marc Jacobs | New Steeletto Palette, Velvet Primer & Mascara + Ultra Skinny Gel Liners

Marc Jacobs Beauty products have been on my radar for a very long time, I have had used their beauty products before and absolutely loved them! I was thrilled and thankful to receive new formulas to test. Marc Jacobs Beauty’s presentation is ultra-luxe and of very high quality. Today’s review consists of:

Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyes Shadow Palette in Steeletto (C$59.00 7 x 0.03 oz/ 0.8 g) is a long-wear eyeshadow formula that comes in 7 beautiful shades with four finishes. This palette is a limited edition and it’s all about neutral and plum shades along with a hint of glamorous finish. This is probably one of the palettes that carry every shade you need to take you from a neutral day look to a very glam finish night look easily and effortlessly. There is a combination of warm and cool undertone shades that really can blend together. Steeletto carries a very ultra-smooth rich pigment that feels like velvet. The pigment is really good and easy to layer.

  • RULE – is nice ivory with a matte finish
  • THE CONCRETE – soft rose brown in matte
  • JUNGLE – is a deep matte eggplant shade
  • SIDEWALKS – is rose ivory in satin
  • BECOME – is a fawn brown shade with a matte finish texture
  • SPARKLING – is a beautiful multi-colored lame shimmer in a purple
  • CATWALKS – a pure black shade in satin finish

I love the shades in this pan, it works great on my complexion and really complements my skin tone. I’m not a sparkle or shimmer person but I find the shade sparkling is a very wearable sparkle shade. It adds so much glam while it doesn’t feel too much. As a neutral makeup lover, I find this is one of the palettes that I can wear all year-long.

Up next Marc Jacobs just introduced a newer version of their gel liner Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner (C$31.00), these are ultra skinny eyeliners with the same glide and payoff as the Hlighliner Gel Eye Crayon (reviewed here and here). They come in two millimeters and an unbreakable tip that glides on beautifully with amazing lasting power. I have had tested and tried their Highliner Gel Crayons in satin and matte finish before and absolutely loved it. These come in a satin finish and sets beautifully.

The new transformative gel formula is quite amazing with a precise application that stays on all day long without smearing or smudging. You can create a very fine line with these Skinny Liners or line the lash line while it looks so natural. They come in beautiful shades and colors. Here are some of the shades I got to play with:

  • Steel (etto) is a beautiful light steel shade
  • Dove (affair) is a pestle gray
  • Grape (vine) is a nice deep plum shade with
  • (Pink)y Swear is a nice bright pestle pink
  • Fine (wine) is a gorgeous deep wine red shade

This is one of the products that brings brightness to my eyes. You call to know I’m obsessed with a good mascara and this Velvet Noir Mascara was something I wanted to try since the day it launched. Marc Jacobs launched a Velvet Primer (C$33.00) and Velvet Noir Mascara (C$33.00) recently. I usually don’t wear primers for mascaras and if I do I love the CILS BOOSTER XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base from Lancôme which is one of my all-time favorites. When getting my hands on this Velvet Primer my expectations were quite high and I must say it did exceed my expectation. I have been paring it with the Velvet Noir Mascara and it definitely adds so much volume and makes the mascara look so much better. The formula is nice and creamy and really coats the lashes without feeling stiff. The brush itself is designed to grab the smallest lashes in each side of the eye to fully and evenly coat lashes.

Wearing a primer not only adds volume it also gives a little more length to the lashes and it truly depends on how you layer them. I love to wear the primer by giving it few seconds to set but not fully dry followed with one code of mascara while brushing the lashes out as many times as I can to get full length and volume.

Overall one of the best beauty products I have tried for this Spring/Summer season. I have already put the Steeletto eyeshadow palette in my everyday makeup drawer to reach out to it most of the time. The shades are very wearable and perfect for every day wear with a touch of glam. The velvet mascaras are a huge hit for me, they really add volume and carry the blackest formula to wear. I have been so impressed with the Skinny Gel Liners, you may all know I love to wear gel or pencil liners and I love ones that give me the illusion of eyeliner. I might go and get a black and Blacquer(berry) which is a violet berry shade.

They’re all available in-store and online at all department stores and online at Sephora.
