MAKE UP FOR EVER announces a new Artist Lip launch for 2017 with collaboration with the iconic superstar and artistic JESSIE J. This collaboration kicks off with a music video where the stage of the transformation for JESSIE J. is MAKE UP FOR EVER’s set. This year MAKE UP FOR EVER will be encouraging the people everywhere to celebrate the makeup’s power.
This Artist Acrylip (C$29 for 0.23 oz) is a limited edition with new innovated formula for liquid lipsticks with high pigmentation yet feels light weight. It’s inspired by the versatility and high pigment of acrylic paint. The texture is super light and non sticky yet full coverage with soft shine finish. It glides on lips effortlessly and the buildable color intensity allows to customize the look from natural, soft wash looking to an intense bold look.
There are 10 shades in total that comes in a wide range of colors from neutrals, to reds, plums and pinks. I have the pleasure to swatch the three shades that were sent out to me from MAKE UP FOR EVER’s team in Candy Pink – 200, Poppy Orange – 301 and Raspberry Red – 401. All the shades are full coverage and the slanted cushion applicator smoothly spreads the product uniformly into the lips with just one stroke. As well as the applicator makes layering super easy, I loved how you have the full control on the product. The lasting power is amazing – it lasted on my lips full day without any touch ups, it does fade if you eat and drink but otherwise I was very happy with the lasting power. Unlike other lipstick, the formula is super hydrating and stay fresh looking for a relatively long time.

Lips swatches of all three shades on bare lips (without lip liber), you can really pick up the shine finish – there was no flash used in the photos. I found the all three shades are wearable and I loved how the colors on the lips comes from within with a nice glow. You can definitely add more definition and life to the lips by contouring the lips with a matching lip pencil. I personally don’t wear very bright and dark shades during the day but I was able to wear the Raspberry Red whole day without any hesitation. I give the formula a huge thumbs up – it’s really quite unique compare to any other liquid lipsticks I have tried so far. I was very impressed that they keeps lips hydrated while on the lips, while the twisted tube package makes it easy to carry it on with you any where.
Overall I was very pleased with the quality and performance of the Artist Acrylip, I haven’t tried out the other shades yet but if any of you have tried , I would love to know what’s you favorite shade. These Artist Acrylip is exclusively available online at Sephora.com.
