Laura Mercier | Tined Moisturizer, Persian Nude Palette & Rouge Essentiel Lipsticks

Laura Mercier launched a few new products this season from complexion to eyes and lips. These new launches includes her new reformulated Tinted Natural Skin Perfector Moisturizer, Persian Nude Collection as well as the new Rouge Essentiel Lipsticks. I have swatches along with my thoughts on all the new launches. Some are limited edition which I would advise to get it before its gone.

Up first is the new reformulated Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector (C$65.63 for 1.7 fl. oz./ 50 mL) is a lightweight tinted moisturizer which gives a sheer coverage (barely to no coverage) while retains the skin’s moisture. I’m not a tinted moisturizer kinda girl and that’s why I haven’t tried this up to date but slowly I’m gravitating toward them for the fact that my skin looks much better (I have been really looking after it for the last couple of years). I have had received the original formula a while back from brand to test but unfortunately the shade was too dark for my skin tone. I was kind of excited with I saw that Laura Mercier came with a better formula and with higher SPF 30. I love bases with a good amount of SPF to get me through out the day. This one contains active ingredients for the sunscreen include Avobenzone 2.5%, Octinoxate 7.49%, Octocrylene 2.0%, Oxybenzone 1.0%; plus it blurs imperfections while delivers hydration that lasts 24 hours.

I feel like I will be wearing this for this fall and winter season for daily look or as a base for my foundation. I received it in shade 2N1 Nude which is a perfect shade for my skin at the moment. There are 20 shades in the collection with three different undertones – C for Cool, N for Neutral and W for Warm. This one gives a nice dewy finish and very sheer coverage, you might need to use a good corrector or concealer to hide any dark spots or dark circles. At the moment it hold up nicely during this season, I don’t think I will be able to pull this off during the summer days. I wouldn’t suggest if you’re looking for a product to give you any kind of coverage. I feel it’s basically a good moisturizer with your sunscreen in it.

Up next is the new Persian Nude Eyeshadow palette (C$76.83 for 12 shades) limited edition and its gorgeous! It’s a perfect glamorous eyeshadow palette that has a mix of bold and edgy colours for with a great finishes. For me this is a palette that I would love to carry with me all the time, there is a mix texture of mattes, to smooth foiled shimmery shadows. I can consider this palette as a glamorous neutral shadow palette. Quality and pigment of these shadows are phenomenal. This palette was inspired by the classic allure of Persian style, which I consider myself to carry the same style.

This Palette include:

  • Délicate is a nice soft smooth cream
  • Négligé is a dusty rose shade with shimmers
  • Sensuelle is a deep shimmery mauve brown
  • Lumineuse is a light golden brown with shimmer finish
  • Rêverie is a clean metallic green with foiled finish
  • Nocturne is a beautiful deep navy in matte finish
  • Nue is a light matte peach
  • Déshabillé is a matte finish mauve taupe
  • Femme is a mauve brown in matte finish
  • Envoutente is a dark shimmery bronze
  • Charneuse is a dirty platinum foiled green
  • Charnelle is a beautiful matte dark brown

The mattes blend nicely and layers beautifully that I have never experienced anything like this before with a super smooth texture, I absolutely love there is a great combination of beautiful matte shades that creates perfect looks. The shimmery shades are super creamy and blends smoothly. The foiled shimmers gives a nice multi-dimension sheen finish which is quite amazing! I always find the shimmers applies nicely with finger tips or a wet brush for my dramatic finish.

Last but not least Rouge Essentiel Silky Creme Lipsticks (C$44.68) are weightless lipstick with high impact. They’re infused with Mediterranean sea algae extract which smooths skin’s appearance and keeps lips moisturized while on lips. It comes in a sleek and high-gloss metallic case and the lipstick itself is custom curved cullet emerges sculpted to envelop lips. It delivers intense color in one swipe. It comes in a great range of beautiful shades from soft nudes to dusty rose mauve, beautiful reds and some really dark vamp shades.

Colors I received:

  • Rouge Muse is a perfect plum red with blue undertone
  • Rouge Electrique is a bold classic orange-red

Both shades are from red family and I find the high-gloss shine gives a nice shimmery illusion under the light. Reds are shades I tend to avoid wearing most of the times; only wear them time to time on some occasions depending on my mood (especially during the fall and winter time). As well as all reds don’t look good on me especially ones with cooler tones, I have the skin with yellow undertone and I can only pull off some red shades. Colours wear well and applies perfectly. I can get full coverage with one swipe and lately I’m obsessed over blurred lip look so going over the edges with a brush offers that blurred look.

At the end, it’s a pure LOVE! the formula for the Tinted Moisturizer Tinted Perfector is quite amazing especially during the winter time for my dry skin, it gives a nice fresh natural look that I love while I do need to correct along with a good concealer to finish it off the way I want. The Persian Nude Eyeshadow palette is stunning! I love all of the colors, it’s a palette created for me. This is one of the palettes that I can see my self wearing all shades. The lipsticks formulas are quite amazing, and the shades are quite festive while I feel like I need to browse in to see if I can find a perfect nude or rosy mauve to my every day look. At the same time since we’re just couple of months away from holiday season these would make a perfect gift while they’re coming with such amazing holiday bundle packaging that soon will be shared with you all here. You can now find all these new finds from Laura Mercier in store and online at Sephora, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
