Laura Mercier | Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation

The foundation I have been the most excited about this season is the new Laura Mercier Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation (C$60.00 1oz/29 grams). I was really thrilled and thankful to receive a sample to try in shade Cashew 2N1. It comes in a great range of colors with 30 options and with different undertones. I found finding your shades is quite nice, all the shades are named with its undertone as C for Cool, N for Neutral, and W for Warm undertone. Although at first look I thought I could go with a warm undertone since I have a slightly yellow undertone but Neutral has worked great on my skin. This is a liquid foundation with a medium to full coverage that looks natural and looks like skin. I find it gives enough coverage to make dark spots and freckles disappear in a very natural way and makes the skin look even.

The foundation carries a matte finish but with a light glow that can even be seen in low light and it really boosts skin’s natural radiance. It photographs very nice and there are no flashbacks while. It is formulated with Super Crystal Clear Pearl that is a super fine texture with a flawless, flat surface for a light-reflecting effect. It also contains Silver Ear Mushroom Extract and Vitamin C which helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and reveals brighter and clearer skin tone over time.

The foundation was applied without any primers:

The foundation feels and looks very hydrating with a luminous feel and finish but not too dewy. It stayed input for the whole day for me, without any touch-ups. I find a nice hydrating primer gives a nice finish to the foundation. I have been loving to wear it with Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonder Glow Face Primer and Dior Mist primer, both give the foundation that extra hydration it needs to set flawlessly. The foundation really is good enough by itself but if you like that nice radiant and dewy finish the primer will help you achieve the look easily otherwise the foundation carries a semi-matte effect look.

Coverage is medium but definitely buildable to full and it layers beautifully. I haven’t tried any other foundation from Laura Mercier so I can’t really compare the foundation at this point but at first-impression, if I could compare this foundation to any other foundations that I have used by far I can definitely say it’s very close to my La Prairie Caviar Cushion foundation.  I find it works great on all skin textures, the formula is super smooth and the color true pigments resist oxidation.

Bottom line a huge thumbs up to this new Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Foundation. It’s probably one of the foundations that I will be reaching out to it this Spring/Summertime. It’s absolutely an amazing foundation with a nice radiant finish that I always look for when it comes to basis. Lasting power is pretty good, it lasted a whole day for me. I may need a touch-up during summer times (maybe) but right now it’s working great. It has enough coverage to even out the skin while it looks supernatural with a light glow.

Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Foundation is now available in-store and online at Sephora, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
