It Cosmetics introduces a new addition to their best-selling CC+ cream line Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil Free Matte Foundation (C$49.00 for 1.08 oz/ 32 mL). This is a full coverage colour correcting cream that carries an anti aging benefits at the same time. Its designed for all skin texture and with SPF 40 physical sunscreen. It Cosmetics initially introduced this in original form and as far as I know it have done so well that they introduced this product this year in two new textures; Illumination and Matte finish. I have been a true lover for its original formula and I found the new textures are quite amazing.
For those who are not familiar to CC cream or foundation, it is skin care and foundation (tint in some case) in one. There is no flashback with this, I have been wearing the Illumination CC+ all summer long and I loved how it give my skin that nice glow without emphasizing the pores at all (fully reviewed here), and when I found that now it’s available in matte finish I knew it would be one of another hit especially for those with oily skin. It comes in 12 shades to cover all skin tones which I find the color selection is great.
It gives a very natural looking matte finish skin with complexion perfecting breakthrough that instantly camouflage skin’s imperfections. It stays input throughout the day without creasing or cracking and it promises to control oil for up to 12 hours. This is something that I never get to deal with but if you’re some one with oily skin this would definitely help your skin improve.
I wear the CC+ foundation in shade light which I find is a good match to my skin, I have been using the It Cosmetics Heavenly Lux Flat Foundation brush (reviewed here) for application and the coverage and finish is smooth, I also have used my finger tips which I found the finish is flawless; it moves easily on the face while offers a full coverage finish. You can immediately see your skin look and feel better and skin care benefits will affect after wearing it for more than 3-4 weeks, it will help to reduce any dark spots or any uneven pigments. Its formulated with any advance anti aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, vitamins and antioxidants, you’ll see instant results and more dramatic results over time. Its infused with charcoal to detoxify and colloidal clay to absorb oil, and tea tree extract to combat blemishes.
After testing this CC+ foundation in Matte for a week now I’m totally loving it. Although I knew it’s not designed for my skin type since I have a dry skin and no sign of oiliness on my skin but I was surprised on how amazing this works on my skin. It literally looks like skin but Better, the lasting power is pretty amazing and some how I feel this would be perfect for me to wear on those hot and humid summer days.
Compared to the original and Illumination formula that was launched earlier in the summer, the texture has a thicker feel but same coverage. You might need to blend the product faster since it does tires quicker than other two textures. You can literally see the difference in texture above, the original carries a very subtle glow which gives a dewy finish while the illumination have more glow and once you’re in direct sun it reflects light which makes your skin glow. The Matte carries a nice creamy texture while it gives that nice matte finish without feeling dry on skin.
There is less scent compare to original but it doesn’t feel dry or cakey on skin. There is no need to set with a powder, it finishes to a matte velvet texture. It comes in same original packing with teal shade cover and pumping dispenser which I love it for the fact that its mess free. I still do use a peachy concealer under the CC+ foundation to hide my dark circles but other than that it works amazingly.
This is one of the products that I can talk for hours, I personally love it and wear it on daily basis. It’s perfect for ladies who are on the go and wears makeup on daily basis. The new Your Skin But Better CC+ Foundation is now available online and in store at Sephora.
