Giorgie Armani Beauty | Power Fabric Compact Foundation, Power Fabric Concealer & Eye Tint Liquid Shadows

Armani Beauty launched a couple of new beauty products this season and I was thrilled to find more about these new launches via a Masterclass that was hosted by their famous Makeup artist Cedric Jolivet here in Toronto. I was really impressed with their presentation and teaching makeup application. The demonstration was quite nice and clear plus the offering of product swatches during the masterclass really help me to understand why and how that product was used. I loved how the actual makeup look turned out, definitely an experience to remember.
One of the key products that were used in this masterclass was the Prima Glow-On Moisturizing Light Balm as a base or primer which I was super impressed with the amount of hydration it offers while skin doesn’t feel creasy or sticky. I have tried many hydrating moisturizers but I can’t compare this one to any other moisturizer I have tried.  It literally melts into the skin and adds a nice luminosity to the complexion.

Up first is the new Power Fabric Compact Foundation (C$89.61) which is an on the go compact foundation that helps to achieve a long-lasting velvet finish complexion. The coverage is medium with a satin finish. It feels like a second skin with good coverage. The formula is waterproof and lightweight with a creamy texture. The innovative formula transforms from a balm to a cream powder and its self-setting properties maintain a flawless complexion throughout the day.

The formula is a bit on the heavy side or in other words in a thicker version than the original liquid foundation but it will hold up well in warmer weather. It makes skin look really nice, even out the skin. For me it’s still on the dryer side, a good hydrating primer or a booster is a must for a flawless finish. You really have to apply the foundation by padding or dab the product into the skin rather than sweeping, especially when layering.

A closer look at the compact:

I do like the way it looks on the skin every day, looks natural doesn’t emphasize the lines and pores. There is no need to set it with powder, it’s easy to carry around for touch-ups. All that said I prefer the liquid Power Fabric Foundation a lot more in term of coverage and lasting power – but I can carry this to touch up whenever I need.

Armani Power Fabric High Coverage Stretchable Concealer (C$47.60) is another new find for me, it’s a long-lasting high coverage liquid concealer with a semi-matte velvet finish. It carries a full coverage texture and layers nicely. It blends really nice under the eye area. I got to try them in two shades (01 and 02) wherein Power Fabric I found myself in number 5 and 02 in concealer was a good match for my skin. I can definitely use 01 to highlight the under-eye area. It feels light with a very thin formula but covers pretty much everything you need to hide. It does feel comfortable on the skin, and the applicator is quite nice too.

The concealer goes nicely over the foundation with a self-setting finish. It has been working great on my dry under-eye skin. I found the Concealer carries a creamier texture than the foundations in general.

Last but not least are the latest from their newly packaged and formulated liquid/cream eyeshadow called Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadows (C$39.20) are shimmery shadows that come in different finishes and colors. They are just gorgeous! they have introduced these in more finishes and new smaller packaging. These are fluid textures like liquid shadows that are a bit thicker which makes them slightly like cream eyeshadows but still on the fluid side. It sets nicely and doesn’t move at all. I have been playing with them for the past two weeks now and I must admit that I have been reaching out to them frequently for their easy application and finish that it offers. It makes a perfect base for any kind of eye look. I personally loved the deeper shades and lighter shades. The between ones doesn’t do much for me.

The shades from left to right:

  • 8 Flannel is a nice nude with pink reflect it looks super natural on eyes.
  • 41 Fusion is a super hot lava shade with a metallic finish and probably one of my favorite shades from the collection.
  • 44 Rose Gold is another soft nude with a nice shimmer that picks up in the light.
  • 45 Gold Foil is a hot gold it goes really nice over the Fusion.
  • 46 Halo is a beautiful taupe another favorite shade from the collection.

Comparison swatches to some of other cream and stick eye shadows:

They layer beautifully on top of each other to create a 3D look. The shimmers set pretty nicely without any fallouts and last all day without budging. I found these to last much better than any other cream and liquid eyeshadows I have tried by far. I have been applying it with its’ applicator and blend with my fingertips, I did used a small eyeshadow brush to precisely apply to some part of my eyes.
Although I’m not a shimmery eyeshadow girl I fell in love with Decorte’s Cream shadows the first time I tried and probably these are another shimmery shadows that I think I will stick with them forever.

The bottom line a solid hit for me, I really liked the compact Foundation for its easy to use and on go touch up properties. It offers a nice natural finish with good coverage. The concealer also gives a nice finish and covers nicely the dark circles and any other imperfections. I loved them for their self-setting properties since I don’t use powder regularly and loved how it lasted on my skin all day. I have been in love with the Tint eyeshadows, I have been wearing them on regular basis and love how easy it applies while it adds so much glam within minutes.
All these new launches are now available in-store and online at Nordstrom and Sephora.
