DIOR have launched the Spring 2017 collection this January. I was over thrilled to receive some of the key products from the collection. I have grown seeing Dior products on my mother’s dresser over 30 years. How each product and makeup collection have got make-over, over the decades. It’s definitely one of my most favorite brands that I trust blindly. The 2017 Spring collection is full of colors with lots of vivid shades for eyes, electric colors for lips and glowy checks. This year Dior is introducing couple of new additions to each line that I was very impressed by those additions. Today I’m reviewing:
- Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer in 003 – 004
- Rouge Dior Matte Lipstick in Absolute & Radical
Up first the Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder (C$68.00 each) is a light weight highlighter powder that melds into the skin for a beautiful luminous glow. Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer was introduced last year in shade 001 and this year Dior is adding three more shades to the line in 002, 003 and 004. All four shades are different from each other and I was very happy that Dior added more shades to the formula since it’s a beautiful and a must luminizer for all skin tones. Highlighters are becoming in high trend in the last two years and this year it’s on its peek. I received two shades from the collection:
- Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer in 003 – is a nice yellow gold shimmer highlighter.
- Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer in 004 – is a tan (bronzed) shimmer highlighter.

These highlighters are giving skin a nice glow that comes from within. They’re highly pigmented and it catches and reflects light to give a nice radiance to the skin. The texture is lightweight and the lasting power is amazing, it lasted on my skin the whole day, although I do touch my skin regularly. I loved how it doesn’t emphasise pores as well as it not dry on the skin. I found both shades are versatile and wearable on all skin tones, although 004 do intent to look darker but it gives a perfect amount of color to the skin. Each compact comes with mini kabuki brush that nicely blends a perfect amount of product to the complexion.
Rouge Dior Matte Lipstick (C$43.00) is a collection of matte finish lipsticks with comfort wear. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and claims 16 hours of wear. The formula is pretty moisturizing for matte lipstick, it’s infused with mango butter. Unlike other matte lipsticks it doesn’t dry out the lips at all. The Rouge Matte collection carries a great range of colors from iconic reds, corals, pinks, rosewood as well as couple of unexpected matte shades. I had received two beautiful shades from the collection one in Absolute Matte which is a beautiful classic red and Radical Matte which is a cloudy gray color.

The lasting power is pretty amazing it lasted on my lips for a good 12 hours, it doesn’t smear or smudge. I loved how the texture is lightweight and it seals into the lips. It feels like your skin, I never try out shades that are out of my comfort zone but I was willing to try out the Radical matte, it’s an unexpected cloudy gray with a very cool undertone. I found it doesn’t really go with my yellow under tone skin but some one with cooler pinkish tone skin can really pull the color.
As many of my readers know I am a sucker for packaging and Rouge Dior is packed in a metallic couture case with beautiful details. I was impressed that the inside cap is attired in the Rouge 999 shade which is a hot red shade, definitely an elegant signature look by Dior.
Bottom line – pure love. Dior makes the best products, I always have been impressed with the products I have used by far. DiorSkin Nude highlighters are a must, if you’re looking a good highlighter. They’re on pricey side but I found it’s totally worth the money. I personally loved the look and wear of the highlighters. As well as the Rouge Dior Matte lipsticks are beautiful. I was very pleased with the lasting power and with the light texture. I usually don’t reapply lipstick often, so I do like the lipsticks that stay longer without smearing or smudging. These lipsticks do stay quite beautifully on the lips. I will be going to pick up a rosewood color from the collection (either Ambitious or Classic) since I usually wear nude shades.
