Charcoal Cleansing Gel (C$ 27) cleanses the skin deeply while controlling excess oil, immediately and over time. The cleanser is designed for daily use. I found it to be the gentlest in their cleansing products. The scent is very mild which I find soothing and refreshing. It comes in a tube packaging which I think is easier to fit into your travel bag. It carries Natural Bambo Charcoal ingredient which attracts the pollutants and other impurities out from skin, leaving skin soft and silky. It is e described as being able to remove all traces of makeup which I find to be true even for eye-makeup.

FullSizeRender (15)I usually prefer to remove eye makeup with a cotton pad and with your go-to eye makeup remover first, then follow with this cleanser. It also carries Glycerin which I found daily use didn’t dry out my skin at all even though I do carry a dry skin plus it contains Caffeine in it which keeps skin calm and soothes while cleansing. It carries a very light and silky texture and removes makeup entirely. It lather up to very gentle, so it’s easier to remove the cleanser faster leaving skin soft and smooth.

Sonic System City Block Purifying Charcoal Brush (C$ 141 for the system) is a game changer. It does take time to see results but over time it improves the skin’s texture and clarity. It does pulls out the impurities of the skin like a magnet. The black brush head is designed to detoxify skin by removing oil, pollutants and dirt more effectively than washing my hands. Does it really get a better clean compared to hands? I think it absolutely does. I didn’t experience any purging when I started to use it just because I don’t have large pores as well as oily skin nor any breakouts except a small scar around my chin which I realized improved after using it for a while. It fits perfectly into hands, so it’s easier to really emphasize on some of the porn areas.FullSizeRender (17) FullSizeRender (16)
It carries two type of bristles, Soft which cleanses the larger areas of the face like cheeks and Firm bristles which targets the prone areas like forehead, chin and nose which helps the skin to unclog the pores and removes the oil of the skin effectively. It is designed in a way which is easy to use and hold plus it can easily lay flat on the bathroom counter so it won’t roll over. It also claims the battery life will last up 3 hours continuously when fully charged which is equal to about 3 months of use that I haven’t experienced yet, I only have used it for four weeks now only in the morning and so far it’s working great.
Directly apply the Charcoal Cleansing Gel onto dampened brush head, and after pressing the start button go over whole face so the cleanser spreads all over the face then gently start massaging the face gently for 15 seconds up and down or circular motion avoiding the under eye area, you also have to make sure you’re not pressurizing it to the skin, it might cause irritation.

FullSizeRender (21)City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub (C$34 ) is a five-minute treatment which detoxifies the skin from pollution, smoke and other environmental toxins. I loved the quick timing since my hands are always full and spending less time pampering means I can do more of what I love to do. This mask not only give your skin a quick treatment it also scrubs away the death skin cells at the same time. Even though I don’t have an oily skin but if you do, this is some thing you want to consider since it carries LaminariaSaccharina Extract which helps minimize excess sebum production, resulting in less surface oil over time.
Apply the mask generously on dry skin with foundation brush (if you have an extra one) or you can use your finger tips all over your face, avoiding the eye contour area. Leave on face for 5 minutes, or once the mask turns light blue. Using warm water massage all over the face gently to activate its exfoliating properties, making sure it doesn’t get into the eyes. I prefer after exfoliating, remove the excess with a towel and then rinse off and towel dry.FullSizeRender (22)It carries a thick and muddy texture with little small beats for exfoliation purposes. It goes on to the skin perfectly to cover entire face immediately and once it dries into the skin you can feel the tightening, and I do leave it on for another couple of minutes since I believe the tightening does helps the skin to get firmer. It has the most wonderful refreshing clean scent making it feel extra nice. It also works really well to help calm irritated skin and reduce redness. I really like Clinique for the gentle but effective skin care.

IMG_0876Over all I have been loving these new additions from Clinique. I am always a pure believer at Clinique’s products, they always come with the best product lines in the market. I would say the one step cleansing system which carries the Charcoal Cleansing gel with the Sonic System Charcoal head is awesome, cleanse off the entire makeup plus any other impurities from skin, you can literally fell skin soft and smooth within one use and the Charcoal Clay Mast + Scrub is just one step to achieve a flawless skin within few minutes. All products are available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique locations nationwide and at http://www.clinique.ca/ beginning July 2016.
