It’s just that time of year that we see a bunch of new skincare launches happening for the upcoming transitioning season. It’s the time we pull out our sleeves to get ready for cooler and drier months ahead. Here today I am sharing some of my favourite Fall launches that will take you through these dry and cool months easily. Many of these products might make an individual appearance on an upcoming blog post.
Let’s get started to see what’s NEW!
Guerlain just introduced the Abeille Royale Advanced Youth Watery Oil is a multitasking facial oil that is formulated with 95 percent naturally derived ingredients that adds radiance and plumpness to the skin. This serum feel like a slik on the skin with its watery texture and is a perfect transition skincare product for the fall seasean. Love how it obsorbs into the skin immediatly without any greasy of heavy feel on skin.
U beauty Resurfacing Compound is not a new product but the brand it self was introduced last year which sold more 20000 on its first day. I have been using this serum for more than a month now in my friday facial nights and it really lives up the hype. This serum is a multitasking serum that brightens, resurfaces, renews, tightens, equalizes and defends skin in one simple, skin-nourishing step. I will have a full post on the enitre line very soon.
Clarins been always a good starting brand for me and this time they just introduced their RE-BOOST line and i got to try the Refreshing Moisturizing Cream. I alwasy get to get asked on how to start with skincare, this is probably one of the products for those who wants to start with a gentle skincare product and I believe is best for youth and those with only hydration concerns. Its formulated with 92 percent natural-origin ingredients.
It Cosmetics just launched and collection of facial serums Bye Bye Serums. This been reviewed on the blog last couple weeks ago and they’re serums that are desinged well to combat skincare concerns. You can find all the detials plus how to use them here.
When it comes to body care I thrive to look for a magical hydrating boy moisturizer and I think i can officailly say that I have found it. The new Fenty Skin Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream is AMAZING!! Its lightweight and melts like an oil once it applies to the body + instantly moisturizes skin. If you’re looking for one then i would highly recommend to do look into this.
Versed Skincare is a new clean, curtly free, vegan and affordable products that are in my testing session, although my selection is limited when it comes to affortable skincare products but I am already loving them. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and doesn’t irretate skin. I will have a full post on how to use it on your skincare routine.
As much as I love skincare products, my excitment levels goes high when I descover skincare products formulated with natural and organic ingredients. I just discovered a new brand Neal’s Yeard which is a canadian based brand with amazing offerings for the season. I have been testing out their Wild Rose Beauty Balm for the past couple of weeks – its an multi-purpose balm that you can use to use as a cleanser, nourishing overnight mask, sunburn relieve, heel softner (my favorite part) as well as you can use it for Eczema + psoriasis to heel. Its formulated with organic wild rosehip oil and balancing belnd of organic geranium and patchouli essential oils.
Jouviance just introduced their new PROCORRECT+ ADVANCED SPOT CORRECTOR this season. This is a brightening treatment to evenout the skintexture + darkspots on complexion. The formula is lightweight and performs amazingly on all skin types and textures.
Last but not least Glow Reciep jsut launched a Guava Vitamin C Dark Spot Treatment Serum. This is one of the K-beauty brand that formulates their products wisely and with a much affordable price range. If you’re looking for a Vitamin C serum with to brighten up you complexion then this is the one you need to try. I just strated to test this week and will report in the upcoming skincare post on how its working on my skin.
It Cosmetics just launched a selection of Serums that are designed to target and combat the most common skin concerns like fine lines, dullness, pores, and dark spots. I have been a huge believer in concentrated serums to treat skincare concerns and I was super excited to find these new serums come from a brand that I trust and a brand that has always impressed me with its skincare and beauty launches all the time.
I was introduced to It Cosmetics during my blogging period from the brand itself by their best selling and award-winning Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream that was back in 2017 and I was immediately impressed with their selection of skincare and beauty products that I got to test they offered. The brand has dramatically grown since then with such a great selection of beauty products. I was really honoured that I was one of the many bloggers that got to find the press samples ahead of its launch date to try and see the results.
Each serum is designed with two mean components to work together to effectively treat and bring out maximum results. I also find they’ve been priced very well for what you get compare to many other well-known brands.
Here I have the details of the entire Bye Bye Serums and yes I’ve tried them all and I have seen and huge results on my skin texture and appearance for the last 4 weeks of use. Here are the details + how to use them effectively on your skincare routine.
This is a serum with 1.5% hyaluronic acid and a peptide-vitamin B5 blend to visibly plump skin and smooth lines in just 2 weeks. I have used quite a lot of Hyaluronic Acid yet there are only a few that works incredibly on the skin and this one is one of them. I absolutely love how this serum is formulated with a combination of ingredients like a peptide + vitamin B5 that visibly and effectively smooths out the fine lines and wrinkles in a minimum period of time.
How to Use: Hyaluronic Acid is best to use on damp skin, it just helps penetrate deeper into the skin and adds more hydration. I personally like to use essence or a facial setting spray before application to help the skin get well hydrated. As much as it’s important to use it on damp skin it is important to lock the hydration with a nice moisturizer. Any good moisturizer will help you to seal the hydration for a good amount of them.
This is a serum that works against pores. This is formulated with 10% glycolic acid to gently exfoliate skin plus hyaluronic acid to visibly minimize pores and adds plumpness to the skin. Both of these two ingredients are formulated together for fact that glycolic acid tends to dry out the skin while hyaluronic acid boosts the skin’s hydateration level to normalize skin for much better results. This formulation works great on oily + combinations skin, I also found it works nicely on combination + dry skin as well since the formulation carries Hyaluronic Acid, so it balances out the skin’s texture while it keeps up with its hydration level. If you have larger pores with dry skin, I would suggest only apply it to the affected area to treat pores.
How to Use: It is important to apply Glycolic Acid to the areas of the face that are not too thin like under the eye area and lips. It’s also important to use a nice rich moisturizer after Glycolic Acid as the AHA can be drying out the skin. I say it’s more important to pay attention to those with dry skin, especially during the fall/winter months. I would definitely wear my SPF. Never layer glycolic acid with any other acid skin care products or those carrying acid ingredients.
This serum is formulated with 4% niacinamide and 1% ethyl vitamin C and both are two mean ingredients for brighter and more radiant-looking skin. Niacinamide is one of the ingredients that is the best way to use to brighten pigmentation, especially pigmentation caused by acne. It’s much safer and more effective in evening out the skin than any other chemical ingredients. I have been in Niacinamide for more than 5 months now with other formulas but I find this serum has better offerings.
How to Use: The formula can be used all over the complexion but it’s important to wear a good amount of sunscreen when using Niacinamide. Although the formula is quite safe, it’s important to avoid the under-eye areas.
Last but not least one of my favourite serums from the collection is the Bye Bye Dullness 15% Vitamin C Serum. I have used Vitamin C serum as young as 14 years old and it has always given my skin that glow. This is a concentrated Derma Serum for dull skin. You can really see and feel the vitamin C experience with this serum, it’s is pure Vitamine C!! The minute I got my hands on it I started using this in my nightly skincare routine and within two weeks I saw huge results and made me WOW.
Usually, my dark spots and frickles get quite dark during the summer season but it’s now more than 4 weeks that I have been using this serum and my skin never looked this bright and glowy before. I can literally go out without any makeup, knowing my skin is glowing. I absolutely love the combination of Vitamine C + Vitamine E – my skin looks nourished and glowing at the same time.
How to Use: You can add Vitamin C serum to your AM and PM skincare routine easily. Yet it’s always the best to use it in the AM with a good Hyaluronic Acid for glow and plumpness. It can be layered with almost all your skincare products except Glycolic Acid. You can not layer Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C serum for fact that it will cause skin irritation and will damage skin cells. Yet you can use them in different skincare routines.
I hope you find this post helpful, I have been testing these serums for more than 4 weeks now and I have seen huge results on my skin. If I have to pick my favourite from this collection for my skin type then it would be Bye Bye Dullness (Vitamine C) and Bye Bye Lines (Hyaluronic Acid). Both work great on my skin, I have been constantly been using both for the past 4 weeks and my skin is GLOWING.
You can find the entire collection available at Itcosmetics.ca as well as Sephora.ca. Linking some of my favourite skincare products you can pair with these serums below.
As promised here I have my updated skincare routine + testing roundup of products. Summer season is here and I have changed my skincare routine on a daily and weekly basis. This year I have been wearing fewer makeup products than I had before yet I’ve been trying some new treatments to brighten my sun + dark spots, especially during the summertime which has dramatically changed the way my skin looked on past summer days. I do take breaks from testing skincare products with some healing skincare items that are great when you need that short recovery time from heavy treatments, it will be mentioned below.
My skin has been really dry for the past decade. The cold and harsh winter Canadian climate put up a toll on my skin since I’ve called it home. I have gone through a good discovery time to find my way on how to treat dry and sensitive skin through years and I am proud to say that I have achieved what I attempted to make my skin look like about 10 years ago. My main concerns have always been keeping the skin well hydrated, smooth (especially under the eye area) plus brighten up the dark spots on my complexion that take me to go through some acid treatments from time to time. I have never had any acne issues or breakouts – only when I feel lazy to take off my makeup but that takes a couple of days to go away without any treatments.
This year there were quite some new and amazing skincare launches that I was able to totally swap my tried and true products with new ones. Much of my summer skincare products are quite new + testing. In this post, I will share everything you need to know plus I use them at the end.
Micellaire cleansers play a huge role in my makeup removing steps, especially on my lazy days. I can’t replace my La Prairie’s Crystal Micellar Water Eyes & Face for the fact that I can only use this alone and it cleans my skin like crystal clear yet the Biotherm’s Sensibio H2O Micellar Water is my all-time favourite + affordable option.
For cleansing the complexion, there is nothing like a good balm cleanser to melt away the makeup + not strip away the skin. At the moment My current favourite is the Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm (only for the face), it melts away the makeup and impurities immediately and without any stripping moisture from the skin but you might find the scent slightly too strong. The Glow Recipe’s Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm & Makeup Remover is a favourite which I have swapped with my Eve Lom Balm Cleanser and for the fact that I can use it on my eyes safely to remove access eye makeup.
My list for Moisturizers is always long, this is for the fact that I do layer my moisturizers almost all the time but during this summertime, I kept them very lightweight. Every year I see my skin look better than the year before and this year my skin looks and feels super hydrated so I was able to only use serums and swap away my moisturizer with my sunscreen. I feel using lighter skincare gives a better finish for the foundation during the summer season. My favourite serum has probably been La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift but I’ve found a couple of new serums that are quite nice for resurfacing the skin + soothing the skin’s texture and much affordable. Here is a list of serum’s I have been reaching out to:
Guerlain Abeille Royale Double R Serum is a serum that I have been reaching out quite often for the past couple of months. It has a soft-peel treatment to effectively diminish the visible signs of aging plus adds a natural radiance to the skin. This has helped my skin with its texture for the past couple of months.
Dermalogica Smart Response Serum is antoher favorite at the moment. It protects skin by using four actives that hydrate, brighten, soothe, and address the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I absloutley love the lightweight texture, and I can easily wear it under my foundation for make it look fresh.
*Tip: it’s important to use an activating serum or mist just before your serum especially if you’re using a Hyaluronic Acid. It will help the ingredient to get into the skin barrier easily plus you need to lock in the moisture with another moisturizer.
Brightening + Retexturizing Treatments
I have had my dark spots and frickles from childhood that has gotten quite visible for the past couple of years. I do get brightening treatments especially during the winter months because I cannot avoid sun exposure during the summertime but this year I have managed to add some acid treatments to my nightly skincare routine that has really changed how my skin looks. Some I use on my daily skincare routine yet some I get on my Friday facials on weekly basis to get rid of dead skin, keep my pores clean + brighten the uneven texture. When it comes to treatments everyone’s skin varies depending on their skin tolerance.
My long-time readers know I have obsessions over-hydrating masks and sheet masks. For masks, I like soothing and calming formulas with gentle plumping properties. I do once a week sleeping mask treatment plus once a week morning mask that is included in my Friday facials. Here are few favourite Sleeping masks that I can swear by.
La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask is one of the best sleeping mask that i have ever tried. It’s my magic pot where i get that exceptional engergized skin in the morning when i need that boost.
Here are few other calming masks I use once a week. Kiehl’s Calendula Petal-Infused Calming Mask is a very soothing and hydrating mask that nourishes skin immediately. I have also been testing the jasmine and Lily Healing Mask which is an incredibly soothing mask.
Many of you know I am obssesed over the Sleeping mask ritual that adds extra hydration to my skin. I have a list of my favorite Sleeping Masks right above and I get to try them every week randomly.
And that’s all for this time of year. This is a full detialed summer skincare post for you all to learn whats new + how to use them on your skin care routine. I do wanted to mention that it has taken a while for me to find my way and get to the routine yet still i do miss some mornings and nightly skincare routine time to time but I am very happy to say that its rare. I want to esure you that just getting into the skincare routine makes a huge difference on how your skin looks and feels like.
Let me know how your skincare steps looks like? do you find this post helpfull?
