Cle de Peau Beaute New Iconic Concealer + My Top Favourite Picks

Cle de Peau Beaute has released a better version of their Iconic Concealer ($75). When it comes to makeup products Cle de Peau Beaute is known for its Iconic Concealer for its quality, performance and lasting power it offers to its consumers. It’s one of my favourites and must-have makeup staples for my makeup looks. I discovered the original Iconic Concealer I think 2016 and since then it’s the second time they’ve reformulated this product. The reformulated version in 2018 (reviewed here) was introduced with SPF 25 (the original formula didn’t contain SPF). Having said that the newer version is now infused and enriched with skincare benefits and is now available in a more fantastic range of shades and colours to cover all skin tones.

In case you are not familiar with this concealer, this is a full-coverage stick concealer that corrects and covers imperfection while it doesn’t crease or look cakey on the skin. This concealer is expensive but I promise it’s worth every penny and it’s one of the products that last a long time with you as your best friend. You can use this concealer in many different ways like as a corrector for under the eye areas and facial discolouration using the peachy tones or covering any imperfections on the complexion using the same shade as your skin or brightening up the area of the complexion with incredible long-lasting. The formula adheres to the skin with a feather-like texture. I find the formula doesn’t dry out itself over time, unlike other stick formulas. So it’s a formula you can really invest to stay with you as long as you wish.

The new formula feels and wears the same as the original formula yet is slightly lighter than bother older version, but there are no changes in its performance or lasting power at all (at least I didn’t feel anything) with the same blendability. I got to try it in shade Almond which is a shade very close to my skin ton and looks incredible on my skin once it wears. Here are comparison swatches between all 3 formulas.

There is also a slight change in its packaging for better hold and application purposes. Although it applies really nicely on its own, I personally like to warm up the formula with my fingertips and apply it to my complexion that way it really sits well on my dry skin.

I am a huge lover of the Cle de Peau Beauty’s complexion products and it’s a perfect time to share my favourite products from the brand that I think are worth investing in your beauty collection including the Iconic concealer.

  • Radiant Fluid Natural Foundation is a very nice medium coverage foundation but buildable. Offers that nice natural look to the skin with a dewy and radiant finish and amazing lasting power. Fully reviewed here.
  • Radiant Cushion Foundation is probably one product that I always carry with me in my on-the-go bag, especially during the spring/summertime. It again has medium coverage with a luminous and flawless finish and easy application and SPF. I love to carry this because I can really it easily instead of my sunscreen while on the go. My skin looks flawless every single time. Fully reviewed here.
  • Radiant Corrector for Eyes is another item that is insanely amazing and a must-have product. It’s a medium coverage concealer with a creamy texture that instantly brightens the under-eye area and complexion. It’s one concealer that I apply without giving it a second thought. I always carry this with me, very easy to use and the applicator is quite convenient as well as doesn’t cake or smudge. Reviewed here.

Bottom line I love the complexion products from Cle de Peau Beaute, their complexion products are extremely amazing with their offerings and the formulas are exceptional.

You can find the new Iconic available at all Cle de Peau Beaute’s contours as well as online. I am linking some of my favourite products from the brand below along with the new concealer formula.

It Cosmetic CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation + Glow Serum with SPF 40 and Niacinamide Review

Super excited to find the CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation + Glow Serum with SPF 40 (C$53.00) from It Cosmetics. As many know It Cosmetics CC Cream is one of my all-time favourite base formulas, especially during the spring/summer time for its SPF coverage and finish it offers. I haven’t found anything that I can compare this base with in terms of its performance on the skin and the skincare benefits it offers.

The new Nude Glow is a lighter version of the CC Cream + formulated with many more skincare benefits that will change your skin’s texture and finish over time. The new Nude CC Cream is an all-in-one formula that colour corrects and covers imperfections of the skin with SPF 40 + formulated with a brightening glow serum that instantly adds radiance to the skin. It’s designed for all skin tones and textures, especially for dry to normal skin combinations with medium coverage.

Bye Bye Under Eye in Light Natural just under the eye area to brighten up
Bye Bye Pores Bronzer all over complexion for that nice glow + to add warmth to the eyes
Bye Bye Pores Loose Setting Powder to set everything in place
Brow PowerFULL Eyebrow Pencil to fill in the brows
Brow Power Filler in Universal Taupe to set the brows
It Hero Mascara to add length and volume to the lashes
Superhero No-Tug Gel Eyeliner to line the eyes
Pillow Lips Solid Serum Lip Gloss in Wink is my all-time favourite and must-have lip product

This new formula contains ingredients such as Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid and Green Tea Extract that brightens smooths, plumps and protects the skin respectively. The formula is not exactly the same as the original formula or any other additions. I find the formula is lighter in texture so it feels more liquidy while the original formulas carry a slightly cream-like texture so it offers that medium coverage finish. The formula is buildable but needs to be set lightly with a powder for better lasting power.

In terms of shade range, I have used the shade Light in all other formulas and the I find the shade runs exactly the same (side by side comparison swatches of 3 formulas below). The new formula offers a better shade range. The finish is natural and is perfect for everyday wear.

Side by side comparison:

You can really see the difference between the texture of the side of the formula side. The original formula carries a cream texture, the matte finish has that paste texture and the new nude formula is liquidy. As well as I have all of them in shade Light and they do run the same. Although you won’t be able to differentiate the coverage both original and matte finish has a full coverage finish while the Nude Glow carries a medium coverage.

Although these CC Creams do blend nicely with fingertips I personally love to use a brush or beauty sponge for all my base applications. The Heavenly Luxe Flat Top Buffing Foundation Brush #6 has been a game-changer in how it finishes my foundation (a must-have brush for me, since I’ve discovered this brush I have not used any other complexion brush). It offers that full coverage and an airbrush finish that I love. The brand has sent out the Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7 which is a dual-ended complexion brush (foundation + concealer) that carries slightly a dome shape that makes the blending easier but sheers out the foundation for a more natural look. The concealer end blends in the product nicely under the eye area, especially the full coverage concealer as well as parts of the complexion that you need more coverage.

Overall I am loving it for every day look for the fact that it gives me that natural look and dewy finish I like with no texture on my skin plus the SPF I need during the spring and summertime. I still prefer to wear the matte finish for days I go out for the fact that it gives me that full coverage look I like to wear but this one is something I would reach for daily looks. I’ve linked some of my favourite products from the brand that I use almost every single day below.

Givenchy | Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Matte Foundation

Givenchy just introduced their new Prisme Libre Skin-Care Matte Foundation ($62). The Prisme Liber Skin-Care Glow Foundation has been one of the best glowing bases I’ve ever tried (reviewed here) and I was super excited to find that they launched the same formula in Matte finish. If you’re familiar with Givenchy’s bases then you know their complexion products are truly amazing.

The new Prisme Libre Skin-Care Matte Foundation is a soft luminous matte finish foundation with a lightweight texture and medium buildable coverage with a 97% natural origin formula. The formula blends quite well for a soft demi-matte finish while it blurs out imperfections and looks natural on the skin and undetectable on the skin. The formula is infused with Capucine Extract, Pink Clay and Annatto Extract that help boost skin’s natural radiance, nourish the skin and help reduce the appearance of pores respectively. It doesn’t emphasize or set on fine lines and it really makes skin look more fresh and radiant through its wear. The collection comes in 35 shades to cover all skin tones. I got to try them in shades 250N and 270N which I find blend on my skin wonderfully. I find the neutral range carries a peachy undertone, it works on my skin since it blends out my dark under-eye circles and other imperfections.

On the skin, it doesn’t oxidize and I was quite surprised by its hold throughout the day. It blends really nicely with fingertips and a beauty brush and sponge. Lasting power is pretty impressive, it finishes the skin that is not glowy but there is that nice radiance with a soft-focus effect that looks like airbrushed. It covers up everything I need to cover including my under-eye dark circles.

As much as I love luminous and glowing foundations, this is one that is going to be perfect for summer days when I want to wear matte foundation but don’t want to show it on my skin. For me, I didn’t need to set it with heavy powder and lasted all day long. I did set it lightly with the Prisme Libre Loose powder, one of my all-time favourite setting powders. You don’t need to prep the skin heavily for this matte foundation, just a simple serum/primer or moisturizer would be good enough.

The bottle carries the same iconic look as the Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Glow foundation except with frosted glass that indicates its matte finish.

Overall, I am impressed and love this formula. I love how it has an amazing bendability that can work with fingertips and has buildable coverage and looks seamless on the skin. You can find the new Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Matte Foundation online and in-store at all Givenchy counters at Sephora, and Holt Renfrew.
