Burbery just launched a new lip formula Liquid Lip Velvet ($38.00 each for 6 ml). These are liquid matte lipsticks whipped texture and creamy coverage in 14 beautiful shades. They’re super light weight and covers the lips flawlessly, leaving no strikes behind. All colors are highly pigmented and glides smoothly on lips with a velvet finish. The formula for the lipsticks are amazing, since they fully covers lips and lasts a good amount of time without drying or fading while on the lips. I always have been loving the Burberry’s lipstick formulas, especially the Kisses Sheer lipstick and the Lip Velvet lipstick are my favorite by far and this is my first time trying their liquid lipsticks and I must admit I have been impressed. The collection carries a great range of shades from Nudes, Reds and few Vampy ones too. I found couple of Nude shades are too pale where pairing them with a nice transition lip liner or mixing it with a lip liner to create a nice ombre effect will surprise you with the out come.
I have received the press sample in Light Nude which is pale nude. It doesn’t go with my skin tone, I found the shade was not flattering at all. But I have been wearing it mixed with different dark shade lip liners and every time it creates the most amazing shade every time. I first apply the Liquid Lip Velvet in Light Nude and then I go over with my lip liner all over my lips.
The new Liquid Lip Velvet campaign features Iris Law, who is the new face as a new global ambassador for Burberry Beauty. I think Iris Law is a perfect face for the launch of the Liquid Lip Velvet. If you’re some like me, who’s obsessed over liquid lipsticks then these are a perfect formula to try out. They’re super comfortable to wear without bleeding but they do fade through out the day so re-application is required. You also do need to smooth out the lips surface making sure there are no dry patches or flakes. I have been putting some lip treatment products from Fresh Beauty to the test and I have been obsessed over the Sugar Lip Polish and Sugar Nourishing Lip Balm from Fresh Beauty for keeping the lips soft and smooth (reviewed here). The Liquid lip Velvet formula keeps lips supple and moisturized thought out the day.
I have been impressed over the luxurious tube packaging, with a see through matte finish glass bottle. It comes with a traditional soft cushioned applicators where it nicely and smoothly spreads the product evenly on lips. As many of you know I’m a firm believer of wearing my lipstick with a lip liner, and especially I found wearing a nice lip liner with Nude shades are must with these Liquid Lipsticks.
I do have quite few favorite matte lipstick formulas like Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipsticks and Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks.
Overall I was very impressed with these Liquid Lip Velvet from Burberry in terms of quality and performance. As many know I’m a huge sucker for the packaging, where Burberry never fails with their high quality in packaging and presenting their products the most luxurious way.
