BURBERRY | ILLIMUNIATING FACE POWDERS SPRING/SUMMER 2016 RUNWAY PALLETE

PicsArt

Burberry beauty has just launched two new illuminating face powder palettes for the Spring/Summer 2016 (C$72 for 0.3 oz ,limited edition). This was my first time going over Burberry makeup collection. I have been completely obsessed with these after using it for couple of weeks now. After playing with both palettes for some time now I would say that they are high on shimmer side to lift and brighten up the face or the best feature of your face. Both of these palettes comes with an exquisite embossed lace detail and cased in a square mirrored compact which adds a lux finish to the powders. The textures are very smooth and easy to blend. Both shades are very wearable during the day and night. It is always good to know that they are formulated without: Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates. The texture of these illumination face powders are translucent and gives a naturally glow to the complexion but definitely buildable for more dramatic finish or to use it as a highlighter by layering. These are the part of the Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2016 runway makeup look with velvet and lace which comes in two different shades:

  • Optic White 01 – is a white pearly illuminators with light shimmers, I think it’s great for cooler skin tones with a dramatic finish but still wearable, I was not sure with my skin tone, even though I have a fair skin color but it’s with warmer undertone, I would like to use it as a highlighter.
  • Nude Gold 02 – has a warmer golden tones which is my favorite, I think this shade really complements all skin tones especially with warmer under tones and gives a beautiful bronzy look. This is some thing I will be wearing along this summer time.

I found both shades are flattering on my skin tone, I do have a light skin tone and to be honest with yellow and pink under tones (that’s why I mix two foundations with different undertones to match my skin). I would definitely would love to wear the Nude Gold 02 during the day to create a bronzy finish to my skin and Optic White 01 at night events for more glamorous finish (as a highlighter). Both gives a great glow to the skin, in terms of emphasizing the pores I would definitely avoid going over the pores, even though I had no issue since I don’t have large pores but it is hard for me to judge. I would recommend if you have large pores just go over the best part of your face as highlighter. These swatches have had been applied heavily with two or three layers so I can really get the true color and shimmer. I feel both gives the most natural glow to the skin, I love that it has a transparent texture. Optic White 01 is great for cooler under tones or pale skin, it created a shape and almost white look on my skin and requires a light feather stroke or lots of blending but if you’re some one like me with warmer under tone Nude Gold 02 is some thing I would recommend you to try.

Both are high in shimmer but not frosty at all and the texture doesn’t feel powdery while on skin. You all will be seeing many of new releases this year with glowing powders and highlighters, and finding the right one for you will be the same as finding a right foundation. It depends on your skin tone, skin texture, skin type and depending on the coverage, finish of the highlighter.

Bottom line I’m very happy with both illuminating face powders from Burberry. I know I will be using both regularly and I would recommend you to try both. These are highlighters you have to try in person to really see how good the glow is.
