Benefit Cosmetics | Blush Bar Palette & Gold Rush Blush

Benefit Cosmetics just introduced two new additions to their Blush line, the new Gold Rush Blush and Blush Bar Cheek Palette (limited edition and exclusive for Sephora). I’m a lover for Benefit cosmetic’s makeup line especially the Hoola bronzer is one of my all time favorite bronzer. I have had some crushes on their Blushes too, GALifornia blush is one of them. I love how they combine blush with gold which makes you glow instantly after application. I wish they could have done something better with their blush applicators, I’m not a big fun of the kabuki applicator at all especially not for blushes. I personally love to apply my blushes with a medium soft and fluffy cheek brush, although I found the flat brush that comes in with Hoola bronzer works great on sculpting cheek bones.

The Gold Rush Blush (C$38 for 5g) is a nice and beautiful warm golden nectar blush that not only adds a nice warm color to the cheeks it also gives cheeks a golden glowing effect. The formula works great on skin, the texture is buildable according to your desire and blends beautifully on the skin. It does carry a nice soft scent of citrus, vanilla and sandalwood upon application which lefts ups the mood. I do found that gold rush is only on top layer once you have used the top layer the gold rush is gone- the formula does carry a slightly golden fine shimmers but I wish the formula it self had more of the gold. You have control over the use, I would suggest to start digging from the middle with small circular motion to really keep that gold rush last for a longer time. The formula it self is infused with golden shimmers but you don’t get that nice golden glowing effect after the first couple of use. I Personally love nectar shade especially when I go bold with my lip color, I keep cheeks nude and glowing.

On other note Benefit Cosmetics introduced the Blush Bar Cheek Palette (C$78 valued $190) which is a limited edition cheek palette that offers five full size blushes including their award winging Hoola bronzer which is one of my all time favorite bronzer (actually I was running out of it). The palette carries a different range of shades, colors and texture that can take you from soft to bold look. The formula of all blushers are quite nice and it blends beautiful with each other when layering. They literally give a nice 3D effect to the cheeks. The  Blush Bar Cheek Palette contains:

  • GALifornia Blush is a nice golden coral pink shade that gives cheeks a nice warn pink color along with a nice golden glow, perfect for summer days
  • Gold Rush Blush is a warn golden nectar shade that gives cheeks a nice and more subtle nude look with a nice golden glow
  • Dandelion Brightening Baby soft pink Blush that carries a nice radiance to it, its not totally matte finish
  • Hoola Bronzer is one of my favorite bronzer, it is matte and gives that perfect amount of shade that you need to sculpt and shape the face with it
  • Rockateur Blush is a rose gold shade that give cheeks that instant flush with a nice shimmers to get you glowing

I personally love Blush palettes, especially the ones that carries a bronzer. It makes my life much easy when traveling and most of the times I use the palette for eyes and face at the same time. I find the Blush Bar Cheek Palette is a nice and complete palette that carries all beautiful and every day shades that takes from day to night look very easily, along with different texture. I find it makes a perfect palette for makeup artist as well as the some who love to play with makeup.

Bottom line, I personally loved both new additions from the brand. The new addition of the Gold Rush blush to their blush collection is amazing, its a very versatile and universal shade that complements all skin tones. And this spring is all about glowing complexion which I find this to be right on target. The formula for the blushes are amazing and the Blush Bar Cheek palette have been priced right to give you a good value product for the price and I loved how they have induced the Hoola bronzer which makes it perfect face palette. The palette carries a great range of shades with different textures which makes it versatile.
